woohoo! i think this will be my first attempt at a craft challenge!

i am in for this challenge...just bought my items at a fleemarket or how do you call that?
i hope its ok to use more than one item as long as its under the 20dollar, still no answer to that question.

(Update: Some people have been asking if it's ok to use more than one item as long as the total spent is under $20. This is OK but the results should all come together under one theme somehow.)

(Update: Want to use an ugly item you already own? OK. As long as it's second-hand and just make sure it's really ugly. I mean really ugly.)

I have the absolutely perfect thing for this! I inherited it from my aunt and it is god awful.

um, how much can we spend on stuff to un-uglify the item?  Things like paint, thread, beads, buttons, fabric, glue, sequins, glitter...you probably get the idea.  in some cases, it would be very possible to spend more on stuff to transform the item than the item itself!

Or should we use items that would be throw-away stuff?

Like, if I bought an ugly chair, and reulpostered it, could I get the fabric from a store, or would it need to be from an article of clothing that I was planning to toss out?

You can spend whatever you want on the extra materials you need for un-uglifying. The only spending limit is on the ugly item itself.

I am so thrilled with this challenge. It will be my first, and I just happen to be in the process of doing such a thing!  Do we need to hold off on posting pictures until Dec 1st?

Yes. You can only post your pics between the 1st and the 5th. There won't be a folder for the entries until then.
