A couple more recently finished items.

I got a whole bunch of Caron Simply Soft awhile ago in a gift basket and I finally decided to use it.  I asked on the discussion board for suggestions and this is the result - Thanks!  This will be given to one of my many friends who have recently had babies.

I have a lot more of the yarn, but I won't be making anything this striped for a looong while.  Weaving in all those ends! Ugh!

I snuck ahead in the SnB calendar to get this pattern - infant sized pumpkin hat!  So super cute!  It's a very easy pattern and I didn't get frustrated once, even though it was my first hat and my first time using dpns.  It knit up super-fast too, in about 3/4 of a college football game on tv.  I'm just holding it on my hand so the pattern isn't stretched out at all, but it looks great.  I'll be making several more of these in the next few weeks - again, for all my baby-making friends.  I think I might have to make one for myself though, too!

I love both of those! I'll have to go pick up the SnB calendar. I have all three books but I didn't know they had a calendar.

Yet more proof that the simplest designs can be the most effective!

If you don't mind, how many skeins of the Caron Simply Soft did this take?

They are both incredible!  I love how you have the striping on the blanket, and I'm sure both were very appreciated gifts.

Thanks for the comments again everyone!  I did finish a toddler size hat too, and received some adorable pictures of the kids wearing their hats with a very nice thank you card.  I guess the 3-yr old didn't want to take his hat off and they got lots of comments when they wore them to the pumpkin patch!

It look less than one skein of each color.  There's a good bit of each one left, so I'd say it used between 2/3 and 3/4 skein each.
