There are a few poppets with painted and/or button eyes. They can look great too. It's all about making the doll make you happy. Smiley

I never thought about it before, but if you wanted to paint a face and am like me, afraid of getting the symmetry right, you could fold a piece of cardstock in half and cut out the face template with an exacto knife, unfold and put this up to your poppet's face to use as a guide with painting. I feel knid of silly posting this, because someone has probably mentioned something similar before, but just wanted to throw this out here anyway, in case it would be of any help for you.

I can't wait to see your poppet! I still have to finish sculpting my little Ada, and jointing her together. Gotta wait until after Wednesday though because I am making 6-8 costumes for a Christmas play Shocked

I just found craftster and this pattern.  Thank you Ghilie for keeping this going for so long.

I bought some alova suede and the other stuff needed.  I am missing the eyes I bought for the poppet I am making.  Grrrrr ... I wonder if they didn't make it into the bag :/
I have her all put together except for her head.  She wants to be a mouse!  Hopefully the new eyes I ordered will come today!  I will put her up once she is finished.  She will be my daughter's Xmas gift.

Thanks Again!!!

I'm a bad poppet-mom... my piggy-poppet still has a crooked furry wig. Have to set it straight, but don't have the time (yet). Did manage to knit her a scarf, it's cold outside after all! Smiley

Here's the culmination of a poppet that I started eons ago. Her body was done about a year and a half ago, the head about 3 mos. and the hair about 1 mo. I used ghilie's wig tutorial but I didn't like the waviness. Thanks to amigurl I flat ironed it and loved how it turned out!

Next to a bottle of water for scale.

Sitting looking very cute.

Any ideas for an outfit or a name? She's only 3 or "fwree" as she likes to say and still wears pull-ups and has a pacifier (even though she thinks she's grown  Roll Eyes Wink)
