I thought I'd share something with you.  I've figured out 90% of the poppet hair with Saran/Nylon doll hair method and posted a tutorial.  I figured that at least one of you would like to know how to do it.  Or maybe are just curious as to the 'torture' I put myself through Wink

Be that as it may, the tutorial is located here.  If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know!!

It's in two posts and has a LOT of pictures, so be warned that it'll most likely be a slow loader.  Cheesy

Did you resize the images before posting. I have broadband and a slow load. I use irfanveiw and choose edit>resample/resize> and choose best fit to desktop and save. I will go look later if you make them smaller so let us know.

I have forgotten to resize before posting and needed to go back and do a quick resize. PM me if you need help with this. Irfanview.com, it's free and fabulous for quick batch jobs. and some control over color correction. Small memory so it doesn't slow down your computer like photoshop does.

So I had an idea of making shank buttons out of some relatively stiff wire and regular buttons...In my brain it works. It should work when I put it together, the question is do you guys think that the buttons would hold up and not break?

You should try them and put them through a stress test.

I cant remember who it was but someone posted this exact same solution earlier, so I would say go for it. My jointing is seeming to get worse instead of better.

I am so sorry, I hope you can help with the surgery. I couldn't get them together. This gnome warrior I just made for belladune I had to rejoint with buttons on the outside. My dexterity seems to be going day to day. PM me if you would like to see the gnome (from WOW) like blood elf. I'm very proud of this one. but it is for an adult.

I think you need to start a (for profit) poppet hospital. Wink

Oh, believe me, it's not your fault.  It's her style of "love".  She still tries to headbutt me.

I finally got my second poppet complete enough to show off. I tried the Elenore pattern for this one and I'm really happy with how she came out. I needle sculpted her toes and gave her bendable fingers and everything. Her hair is a crocheted cap that I latched the strands of yarn to for hair. Because of this, she has no bald spots, her whole head is covered. I actually just pinned it in place because I want to be able to change her hair if I like.

Right now she is still in her underwear because I need to make her some clothes but that is the next adventure. Oh, and I named her Trixie (after Trixie Tang from Fairly Oddparents Smiley )
