I embroidered the face of Tinkerbell. It worked out wonderful! I drew on my eyes and mouth with a regular pencil and then stitched away.

Thanks, I've found your Tinkerbell so will give it ago.

An Easier Peasier Easy Peasy Poppet Dress

Hey guys, when I was making some stuff for the Poppet Swap I was looking through my stash for some things to make clothes out of. I had this really horrible gauzy shirt of my grandma's that she gave me a while back that was a nice red color but I was definitely not going to wear it anywhere. I wanted to make an easy peasy dress from it but it was really thin and I knew it would be difficult to sew etc. so I put it in the corner for a while but I knew it would be great because it matched the hair color I chose so perfectly.

I picked it up again determined to make something out of it when I realized that the cuff and the sleeve already made a perfect easy peasy poppet dress! All you have to do is cut the sleeve at the desired length and possibly cut & hem the back to make a snugger fit. I used that iron on stuff to hem everything so this was a completely no sew project and most cuffs have buttons/button holes already so you don't really have to worry about that.

All in all it took about 5-10 minutes and it made a pretty sweet dress.

I made a pretty easy one recently too. I used a button down the front night shirt that was way to small but so soft. I cut it about 7 inches from the bottom which had a detailed hemline, and then gathered the whole thing to the length of the top. Then turned it so the buttons went down the back! All I had to do was add the snap to the top. So easy and cute. I can't post pictures right now as my camera has died. I bought a disposable camera jsut so I could take pictures but it's going to take a while to fill that thing up!

I just want to say hi to everyone and "officially" join the fun! I got my pattern about a month ago, but I've been busy. However, I'm pretty sure this is going to be the weekend I start working on my first poppet!!! I'm so excited. I have a remanent that I picked up and noticed it is either Alova suede itself or something quite similar. I have about a yard. I bought it to make a Blythe coat, but I think there's going to be enough for a whole entire poppet and then a Blythe coat or three! I'm hoping to find some nice light colored yarn in my stash since the fabric I have is a nice deep grey. Squee! Cannot. Wait.

Oh, and I've read through 400 some pages. I'm trucking my way through this whole thread. There's so much useful info and I love seeing all the poppets. Also joined the flickr group to see all the ones there. Um, I've not been busy enough at work lately. Shhhh. Don't tell!

Yes it is. I think craftewoman posted the pattern online so you don't have to pm her for it and there's a lovely and EXTREMELY helpful tutorial that she posted too, I think there's links on the first page for them.
