She is lovely, Blackbird5685 Smiley  I have already visited her thread.

I think it is great how many "first poppets" have been popping up recently.  I also think its hilarious how everyone refers to them as their "FIRST" poppet, as though it goes without saying that there will be many to follow.  Poppets truly are crafty crack.  Ghilie truly rocks for sharing a pattern that all skill levels can follow.
When I first joined Craftster, poppets were the first craft I really noticed.  I stared at all of them longingly, not thinking I would have the skills to make one.  I HAD to have one.  Now I can't stop making them. LOL!  Grin

Just to keep up-to-date on my poppet workings! I've got one stuffed and ready to be put together, and two still in pieces on my desk next to my machine which will be sewn together in a few moments.

Two are guys and ones a girl (with teh boobs of awesome). One of the guy's goes to my brother in for form on Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach, and he's going to help me making hair so that he can say he helped with making a poppet (I bet it won't be long before he wants more and/or his friends from college will want ones). The other guy is going to be my very own in the form of InuYasha (with whom I have a odd fascination with right now). The girl poppet goes to my flat-mate when she comes back in the next academic year and will be similar to TeachingJonah's swap poppet who kept "disappearing" only to "reappear" on my flat-mates bed among her other stuffies.

I'm also hopefully going to be making a few more over the summer as Jack Sparrow or Sweeney Todd (Love both, yet to decide on which), Poison Ivy (from Batman), Kitto (from the Merry Gentry books) and maybe one of Gene Kelly from Singing in the Rain (I can't help it. I just love the film, and Gene Kelly rocks too).

Anyway, back to sewing!

I'm making a blanket for my uni room as it gets so cold! If you can make/spare any 5X5 inch squares of crochet, I'd happily swap you for something! Please PM me!

In the spirit of passing on a love for poppets, I'm making two for a church auction. Our church has a fund-raiser every year and they asked for donated items for the silent and open auctions...dare I say, I needed a good excuse to give the hubby for making more poppets?  Wink
If anyone has any ideas for making them especially desirable, I would appreciate all input/criticism (as I want to help raise money for my parish - I am NOT selling these, I don't want anyone thinking I'm fishing). They are that tan/mustard-colored alova, one has green eyes, one has brown (I was thinking brown and blond hair, respectively?), and I wanted to make at least 2 outfits for each. Since I have no idea who would be receiving these, or their ages, I don't think really small accessories would be a good idea (i.e. jewelry). Thanks (in advance) for any input!  Wink

tehehe...minty crafty crack...
