Poppets are a Phenomenon. I wish we could have gotten some together and entered them into the Crammed Organisms show! They're SO much better than some of the stuff that's going to be in it!

wow!! 6000 posts!! I think we can safely say Poppet has gotten somewhere in life  Grin she's a phenomenon!!

could I ask for help?? my ladder or hidden stitch always, ALWAYS turns out like a huge lumpy, bumpy scar!! it's horrible! like poppet has has deforming injuries on the backs of her arms and legs  Cry
anyone?
How - exactly - do you do your ladder stitch?
There are a few tricks to it.
First I recomend reading through this thread on craftster:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=13016.0
Next Make sure you are using a thread in a simillar or exact color to the fabric. This will minimize your thread showing. Many people make the mistake of assuming the thread isn't supposed to show at all. I found that this was the main problem they use a different color thread then pull tooo tight between stitches resulting in bumps and general ickyness.
this specific reply is really helpful:

Basically use tiny stitches. Big stitches make it icky. Second don't pull too tight on the thread in between stitches. This will also make it gather and bunch. If it doesn't seam secure enough simply turn the piece and go back the other way doing the same process. I usually do this anyway just to be safe. Since most of my dolls or toys get handled by my baby sis or stolen by my dog at least once.

Aw, Poppies, she's lovely!  (heh heh, Poppie's Poppets, say that ten times fast!)

I just suggested a literary Poppet challenge - who's up for it?  I'm currently toying with the idea of doing Zaphod Beeblebrox, and I know there's several folks contemplating Twilight Poppets ...

I think this would be nice. But I don't need another challenge right now! If there was one I'd never finish my swap packages and my gifts! lol.
I'm almost caught up though so perhaps in a week or two.

A lit poppet challenge would be great! But it would be SO hard to pick a character!
