I am trying to stalk my partner for the mushroom swap who was super sweet and bought me two yards of ivory alova suede. Any ideas for a mushroom themed poppet? I think she'd love that. Smiley

A Toad poppet? You know, from Mario games, with the mushroom head/hat. Cheesy Heehee! That'd be awesome, Mario poppet!

Oh my gosh that could be perfect since she loves mario! I shall have to do some googling. I was thinking I could make a 1/2 sized poppet to save time and use some of my smaller bits of fabric.
I also thought of a "elemental" type poppet with ears simillar to the one in ghilie's av, and with a bustle that resembled a mushroom, and a mermaid skirt type gown. I will have to do some more sketches and google toad to see which wold work best.
The Elemental idea would be neat but I'm worried about time since send outs are the 18th (I think).  I've never done a bustle before, and Toad might be easier....
Off to google!

I love all the amazing poppets everyone is making.  I wanted to share the poppet variation that I've been slowly working on.  While all of you have been perfecting the "booby poppet" I have been trying to tweak the pattern for a garden gnome type shape.

Meet Herman...

And a couple before his hair so you can see his shape better, and compared to the original poppet.

Hopefully I can get him outfitted soon so he can have his own thread.
Herman says, "there be some dem fine gels about and I'm not fond of prancin' round in me skivvies." (shh don't anyone tell him about the naked ones.)

herman is awesome.  now I want to make a gnome, if you don't mind sharing pattern variation.

Herman is so cool.  I don't know why, but he reminds me of Papa Smurf Smiley  Great take on the poppet.

Papa Smurf would be fantastic.  Especially since he wears less clothing, and I find the clothing to be the hardest part.

Ambo, I would be glad to share my thoughts on how I adjusted the pattern or to try and copy my changed pieces (which are a little rough) depending on whats wanted/needed.

If you send me your drawings, I can try to reproduce them in AutoCAD (drafting software) so that you can have a "nice" copy of the pattern to send to all your adoring fans.  This forum gives me so much, I'd like to try to give back where I can.  Kiss

PM me if you're interested.

Wigs on sticks:

Made with an MSD wig pattern that I linked to earlier.  I'll try to find the link again.  They are being modeled by styrofoam balls 20cm in diameter.

ETA: Aha!  Here's that link!
