I bought some clear eyes off of ebay, 18 pairs for 7 dollars, and the backs are soooo easy to get on, I love it.  I will actually be able to put eyelashes and lids on the eyes first and then put them on without messing them up.  Plus, I get to choose the color.
I paid that price and bought 100 with backs from sunshine crafts.
I do like my local dime store too. They tend to have larger packages of different colors than hobby lobby. That and I only go to hobby lobby when I need several things and lately they never have anything I need.

Looks like some cool ideas Minorpunk.
I've been told by my DH that he wants me to do some other projects before I make another poppet. Boo! I'm waiting for my doll mag to arrive, and some eyes that sweets4ever is sending me anyway. And to his credit, the love seat is looking pretty bad and needs a new cover. And I have to repair one of my son's bed.
I am so excited about starting on the mermaid though. And I think my sis is waiting for me to make the tiger for my dad before she sends off her package of late Christmas presents. I am still secretly, and subversively making clothes for the EGL poppet I made.

So I have had my poppet pattern for awhile and have finally got some suitable fabric (not my favorite color but I couldn't wait) and have started my first poppet Grin
SO I have a few quick questions.
ghilie when do you iron on the eyes? Before you stuff the head or after?
Did anyone ever successfully alter 18" American Girl Doll clothes patterns to fit the poppets? I have a ton of these I hope to use.
Again thank you so much ghilie. I have never been able to make a doll before and so far I have 2 complete legs and arms.  Smiley
