CraftAddchick, the web page is so cute. I love how you've told the story of the Poppets as if it were a bedtime story. I think there are some other links that need to go on it though. Like the Hair wefting page, and the other helpful links that are in this thread. I know that will take some more research, but it would be VERY helpful to those who don't want to read 160+ posts.

Thanks, craftewoman! And, I didn't realize until I put them all together how many awesome Poppets you've made!

Any chance you have some of the other helpful links? I don't have time to re-read 160+ pages Wink I'm hoping that the folks who posted the links in the first place can help me out... Grin

From one web page designer to another the page looks great! Clean, simple, And easy to navigate. If I may suggest one thing though. The poppet time line doesn't really make sense to me perhaps calling it the poppet gallery instead? And maybe put a note on top saying that it's in order of creation as posted in this thread (with a link back).

OH I was thinking what about a poppet webring for our blogs? I have no idea how to do one but it can't be hard so I'd be happy to look that up.
Hope to start sewing my first poppet tomorrow! I can't wait!

Awwww.... I love the webpage! Cheesy
So clean, and very good!
Oh, if you want a pic of the completed centaur poppet, it's here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=218333.0 at the bottom of the page is a couple pic's, if you want a completed one.

I got a pattern today from joann's (Yay 5 for $5 sale!!!) And it looks about right for poppets... All the bodices of the dress patterns are too big, but I can resize it, so I'm fine.

I also got some pink fabric to make a poppet for my cousin's, daughter's 1st birthday!
Such a pretty color! Grin

Excellent web page!  I used to be nerdy like that, I had a web page that is more of a cobweb now.  I programmed the whole thing in notepad.  I think it's still out there...
Thanks for the giggle. This was cute. I love people who have a way with words.

My next poppets are in the planning stage, but, I'm pretty sure I'm going to make them harajuku girls!
Fun fun fun! I am so excited!

Introducing my very first poppet, who is as yet un-named.
Shes full of mistakes, but that makes me love her even more.
I couldnt find most of the materials (being in the UK) and so improvised- not the best idea!

Please ignore the loo roll in the background, I have a cold and am full of snot (I know, Im such a classy bird!)

As you can see, my lack of suitable materials have resulted in a wonky faced ET/feline looking head. The poor thing is crying out for eyelids, but I just cant get the material to jam down the sides of the eye fixings. Am half tempted to paint them on!

...which looks fine from the side.

As I could not find any doll joints (damn being in the UK) I used the eyes to joint her, which resulted in biiiiiggg hips which stuck out too much so had to be sewn around the joint to pull them in a bit.

Crappy mobile phone shot without macro, (Ive no idea how to flip the photos the right way around).

Finally, thankyou Ghille for sharing the poppet pattern, the woman is a goddess.
