Went to JoAnns today- no safe-ty eyes, but I did get 5inch doll needles!.
So, on to Hobby Lobby where I found these great cat's eyes in green, yellow, brown, orange and some cute animal noses.
I have a plan!

If anybody needs some doll needles or 15 mm eyes, I can try to get them for you, just drop me a PM.

Now, to make more poppets...so addictive.

Okay, I just re-read this entire thread and I have a question that I don't think has been asked and answered. I just need a little clarification on the seam allowance to the face. The directions say to add a seam allowance to half of the face. The pattern already has a seam allowance marked on one edge, so am I adding the seam allowance to the side of the face where the nose is? And, do I also add a seam allowance on the large curved edge of the back of the head (the part that has the opening for stuffing)?

Thanks!

You do NOT add a seam allowance along the front of the face.  The "marked" seam allowance is all that is needed, it's not really marked though, which is why I added that in the instructions.  Clear as mud huh?

Are you doing the freezer paper method, like it says in the instructions?

So since i received my pattern I've completed two poppets (and many more to come!)  The first is Miette.  She was made from light neon green fleece with white yarn hair and brown safety eyes stolen from a teddy bear.  I didn't have any money to get new stuff so made her with what I had.  She's a little wonky and as soon as I find my husbands car keys I'll get pictures.  My second I had some money to get materiel!  She's made from some mystery fabric I found in the remnants bin at Walmart.  2 1/2 yards for only 2.25!  Yay!  i think it's suede.  Dunno for sure, its smooth on the back, fuzzy on the front kinda stretchy and tan and 100% what I was looking for.  As though the craft gods themselves were smiling on me!  She's a bit altered from the original pattern, no tail or ears and has lovely pink crimpy hair.  I call her Emily. But I was excited to share so that's my progress.  My son and I are making a boy poppet this weekend.  Oh yeah and for those without printers or ink, I came up with a work around.  i opened the pattern in Adobe and taped a piece of paper to the screen and traced it piece by piece.  What can I say, i was desperate to try one lol.  Ok no more rambling I'll return with pictures.  Thank you again Ghilie!!!
