Oooh, that sounds like fun. Happy Birthday!

On another note. My sister has been lurking and asked me for the poppet pattern. It's an epidemic!

I envy people with crafty family members

I wish I knew people who sewed.  (IRL)

There should be a twelve step program for crafting

My entire set of inlaws is crafty. they're the ones teaching me. I wish they lived closer though. My mother in law is about a 12 hour drive away from me.....But she gives pretty good instructions over the phone:) I love it. I get to see them all this weekend and my siter in law is going to show me another way to crochet hats:) I'm so excited. Then I'm going to talk to them all about my poppet ideas.....I can't wait!!!

OK, another poppet question....I've read the instructions (only about 10 times) but, is there something special you put in the neck? what am I overlooking?

I've been able to keep myself away from joanns for the past few days, but does anyone know how long the sale on the alovasuede is going to last?

LOL   No, I got 5 yds total, only 1 yd, 16 in in the green. its kinda kelly green.
I'll be able to make a lot of poppets!
My mom is the only other that sews near me. My sister says I got all the patience during the gestation period. I guess that's why she's the evil twin!

Most sales at JoAnns last til a Sunday.
As for the poppet neck, just stuff firmly!

Thanks for the Birthday wishes! We turned 29 today, and I donated 14 inches of hair to LOcks of Love.

shorter hair=less drying time= more poppet time!

This is so true.  If you think you have enough stuffing in it, you better add some more!

Ok, so I thought you guys would like to know about the big sale going on this weekend at JoAnn(lucky me... I get to work it. yay?) where there are a ton of coupons in the sales papers. I don't know exactly what's going to be on sale and what's not, but the coupons should make a big difference. Have fun at your coupon commotion, and be nice to the cashiers, please? We deal with a lot of crazies.

In poppet news, I got a few pieces stitched last night, and should have the rest stitched together and ready to stuff before collapsing for another long day at work tomorrow. Ta!

I wonder if you couldn't somehow attach a toilet paper/papertowel/xmas wrapping paper roll to help get volume for that bride of frankenstein hair.

That might work. I'm not going to play with her.

Trying to decide if I should try to make her head longer or attach something on top to make the bouffant-ish hair over it.

I made a dress for my poppet... Kind of... so I can post a pic =) I never realized how hard it is to take pics of them! I barely managed to take the pics before little miss stole her away again... The puppy likes her too.. er well her hair.  I'm in the process of stuffing a bunny one for xmas for her, but I am not liking how the ears look... *sigh* We'll see how it turns out.

She's got a scrap in her hair from the dress... Any advice on easy to make poppet clothes? lol. It seems to be the only thing I can't make... The skirt on this one isn't wide enough, so it only covers her front  Embarrassed I am not looking forward to making the princess costume for the xmas ones...

I crocheted the last one.  The clothes take me longer than the poppet.  I don't even know how many times I have screwed up on clothes.
