that. boy. poppet. is. AMAZING!!! omg. the hair is Wonderful! do NOT cut it! and the dangle and dingles, whoo! freaking fantastic. pls Pls PLS post a tute for that, you do an excellent job! totally incredibly wicked cool. can't wait to see him with clothes on.

Thanks, I'll try to make up one tonight when I attach the bits to the new guy.

It would also totally rock if you posted the altered parts so we can try to make Awesome Boy!

*Now I need Fake fur*

I'll try to scan it this weekend! I want to try to make a beefier version too, he is a little skinny  Grin

I've heard that putting the faux fur in the freezer before cutting helps withthe shedding. I plan to try this when I do my brothers Clone trooper's hair.  Wal*mart finally had the right color fur for it so I get to save my eyelash yarn! lol I hoard my yarn so bad....
[/Random note]

I've heard that too! When you try it you tell us how it worked. I have some ziploc bags that I could shove them in. It'd be worth it, it looks like I killed some poor woodland creature in my room right now.

For fun furr-

I hear it also helps if you can make a mock-pattern for the headpeice, do the freezy thing, then turn it over so you can see the underside (without the fur) and use a straight razor or a box razor to cut it.

You get a lot less fur shedding all over if you don't use scissors.
Or at least that's what I hear Cheesy

In the freezer? Really? Man I have been doing it wrong for ages then... Whenever I make my monster purses I just lay out the gigantic piece of fun fur, cut with scissors (with the fur side up), and then pull at the edges to get all of the loose stuff off and then have to vacuum up the entire floor area used due to the mass amount of fur accumulated. Then again, when I do cut fun fur, I do cut like 2 meter by 3 meter pieces, so I can't really fit that in the freezer Wink

But Seraphina_de_Sangre, it is true, he is great!

I'm making an angel poppet.  I was at Hobby Lobby getting some eyes and I spotted some angel wings and thought, "Why hasn't this idea occurred to me yet?"  I also found some beautiful pink eyelash yarn with metallic gold accents for her hair- on clearance for $1.99!  She's all assembled- just needs hair, clothes, and wings.  I can't wait to see how she turns out!

amigurl55, I also bought some wings too, though fairy wings. I just can't figure out how to attach them though (Silverwing made me a fairy poppet and sewed them on, but I think that I would want mine to be able to be removable). I made a little backpack and hot glued it to the wings and the backpack has straps that are amde of elastic to fit over her hands, but whenever I put the wings on, I have to bend her arms at horrible angles and then I feel bad, and the elastic gets stuck between her arm and body joint and then I get afraid that it will loosen her jointing, so now I am too scared to put them on her. I would love to see how you attach them and just to see your poppet in general Smiley

Anways, made another fairy poppet, you can find her here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=303235.0

averyg- I haven't figured out how I'm going to put the wings on.  I'll have to brainstorm.  From the sneak peek, your fairy looks great!

I made a really pretty dress for the angel poppet out of some type of satin and cotton jersey knit.  It looks really pretty, but its a little tight across the hips and sort of crooked because both fabrics are tricky to sew with.  I think I'm just going to make a plain white dress then add a sash or something.

Poppet tights?  Wow, that sounds cool!

Here's a pic of the dress.  You can see its a little tight in her "hip" area and its really tight around her little poppet butt.  You can't really tell in the pic, but one side is also longer than the other.

I want to keep the same look, but I only have enough fabric to make a dress without the pink panel.  Any ideas on how to make a sash or keep the look without adding a fabric panel?

I began unpacking my fabric the other day.  We moved last month.  Anyway, I can't get to the good stuff because my husband buried it underneath all the other boxes.  But I did find some scraps of dark brown freckle skin fabric and some white alova like substance.  I want to make the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, but re-styled as a girl rabbit.  I hate working with white though.  With the dark brown freckle skin, I don't know what to do.  It's not a lot.  Maybe I'll make the baby poppet.
