Bellalupina and ClonedBravo, I was kinda feeling out the desire/plans for a new swap, but since I've never hosted one, I wouldn't know where to start.

I could really use anything at this point to get my enthusiasm back for making poppets!

I know there are a few folks interested in private swapping, but if there are more than a couple, why not get an actual full-scale swap.

Who might be interested in that?

~Sullengal

I definitely would be!

I would be if it was a bit later this month. I'd offer to organize but I all ready offered to do one in february and I know I'd go crazy trying to organize 2 swaps at one time.
Perhaps a discussion thread should be started?

I'm almost done with my first poppet, Ray Toro! He just needs a few more lovely brown hair tracks and he'll be complete!

I never thought I'd have the nerve to make something like this. I can't thank Ghilie enough for such an amazing pattern!

I should have some pictures up of him tomorrow!

Edit: Here's a bit of his story and pictures!

Hey poppeteers!

I decided recently at my first available moment, I'm going to make some Princess Bride poppets, mainly Westley and Buttercup.

As you can see, Buttercup has a square face shape. How can I alter the poppet pattern without making her look like a man?

Also: poppet mustaches. I'm psyched.

You don't really alter the pattern at all, you can just stuff it differently.  Also, PRINCESS BRIDE! YAY!

I agree with ghilie stuff it more square rather than all up and down. Also you could try laying the head pieces a bit differently on the stretch of the fabric and see which way works best combined with stuffing.

Honestly though even if you stuff it exactly the same way I think if you are making the rest of the doll more accurate it will be fine. Smiley (clothing/costume, hair and such)

most of my supplies are in...i bought a crud load of alova suede in brown and black...just waiting on the eyes which aren't really imperative at this point.   now i just need to get over my fear of sewing a poppet.
