I think these poppet dolls are sooo cute and I would LOVE to make one, but...my sewing skills aren't so great-how difficult is it to make one? I would hate to bug you for a pattern and not be able to do it!

I found the poppet pattern to be very easy to work with and I consider myself to be on an intermediate sewing level.  And, the poppet was my first doll.  It took me about a week, but I only worked on it maybe 1-2 hours a night.  You will learn alot just by making this doll, so I say go for it!!

Stock up, because you won't see em till next fall.  Spring time dolly making always drives me crazy looking for fabric.

Oh Joy!
You should have seen my expression when I thought my poppet- making chances were gone. My boyfriend saw it and immediately declared I needed a hug.
You have no idea how unbelievably in I am.

I second... maybe third the queries of good fabrics to make pretty poppets out of. Grin

Thought I'd encourage enabling.  Smiley

The above is the weekly link to hobby lobby.  I plan on printing out a few of those coupons and going in and buying each item on the doll list at 40% off.  Smiley

Another source for alova suedecloth is Walmart - I bought my suedecloth there last year and the stuff holds up WELL!!  I used it as inners for my diapers for my kids, so you know it gets heavy usage and  it still looks brand new a year or so later!

I am especially glad I bought a 'tan' ish color (I bought several yards at the time) as that's what my baby boy poppets will be made out of.

The boys had a rough night last night so I didn't get any 'me' time.  Hoping sometime this weekend to get the pieces cut out!  Smiley
