Well, if necessary, we could always start the poppetalong 2, then 3, then 4...  Cheesy

do threads really get cut off when they are too long? wow.

we can all go back and delete all of the posts we've made that don't have pictures or instructions or links. at least 3/4 of this is just us chatting.

like, wow, raccoon! that animal is on my list, now i gotta make one for sure!

My poppet is all stuffed and waiting for me to assemble her. If I could get her eyes to dry I"d be ready to get her done!

I wonder at what page the mods start shutting down threads.  This worries me...  Undecided

Hey Ghilie!  We've locked old & started new 3 or 4 (I think) threads in the past due to quite a few comments/complaints/PMs regarding them.  Here's why...

How's Your etsy Shop Doing? (1230 pages), for example, was locked and a new thread was started because people who commented a few times back in 2005 didn't want to keep getting replies throughout the rest of their Craftster lifetime. Cheesy

We've never received these type of comments/complaints for any craftalong threads, so I doubt we'd ever have to step in and help you guys out.

Hope that helps your worries! Smiley Smiley

If you've replied in a thread, there is no way to remove it from "Replies To Your Posts" other than deleting your reply(ies).  The notification button only disables the email notification, unfortunately.

They could return to the thread and delete all of their posts, but it's easier to comment/complain/PM that they are stuck in a thread forever than take the time to do all of that. Grin Cheesy

Anyyywhoo... back to Poppet land!

KiwiDragons, that dress is so cute!  I hope your friend likes her poppet, let us know.

I think it went over well. Since her birthday is on Christmas, I think it gets forgotten, so even though my gift was late-she appreciated that I got her anything at all. The dress fabric really went over well though-that made me happy! She commented that not enough people put time and effort into gifts anymore-they mostly just throw a gift card in a bag and that's that, so I took that as a compliment.

And I wouldn't worry about gift poppets not being "perfect." I think the imperfections make them special. Besides, most people are just so happy to be getting one, they aren't even going to notice! Cheesy

So I was too impatient to wait for my supplies to be shipped to me, so I started a 3/4 size for my mom.  I was making progress, but my last sewing machine needle broke!!!  I won't be able to get any till Tuesday night...if Wal Mart carries needles.  Thats 3 days with of poppet making!

I've already tried hand sewing...it looks BAD!

Do you know anyone that uses ebay? You can get small boxes of needles for about $10 or $15 that will last forever.
