I'm not swapping either.....working on my poppet between things.  Thinking of calling her chocolate kisses........dark brown suede with pink.  Thought it would be nice gift for family friend.
 Cheesy

that sounds perfect for Valentine's Day! XD

I just found these website, they are for doll clothes.  You can alter them to fit your poppet.  They are free patterns.

I am too busy for swapping at the moment.   I am currently working on some dolls for a doll show that is 2 and half weeks away. With Crafting for Christmas and then doll making for this show I haven't done any work on my Poppet since the end of November.  My Poppet remains faceless, hairless and naked. And she still hasn't told me her name yet.  Just a few more weeks and I can start working on the poppet again.

So I will still be lurking around this thread.

I found some really cool fabric tonight in the remnant bin at Wally world. It's got the same amount of stretch and didn't have any strings I could see. So I may try it next. It's grey with a sparkle pattern on it. They had lots of crushed velvet too, but that'll have to wait til next time

I've got a couple of poppets I'm doing the sketch work on right now, so I'll post as I get them finished.

I'm not in the swap either. I've got a couple off site that I'm in so no time right now. But next time

I've got all the pieces sewed for the poppet for my nephew.  Now I've settled in with a beer and a bag of fibrefill for the interminable stuffing.

I've got to say, this is one swearless pattern!  It comes together the way it's supposed to, the instructions are nicely detailed, and it yields great results!

So many free patterns are often crap, but this one is easy and lovely.  Birthday poppet should be finished and photographed tomorrow.

I'm having some issues with my poppet. For some reason my body came out about a third of the size of the head. Did I do the head or body wrong? I can't really tell.

I can't tell but I may have put the back part of the head on upside down but I don't think that would make this much of a size difference.
I did mix up the seam allowance on the body is that the issue?
The ears aren't really that wonky I just wanted to show them next to each other so I smushed it.

aha!  I know what you did!  I thought it was fine but I just did something very similar!  I forgot to add the seam allowance to the body.  oops!  I am gonna stuff it and see if it really makes that much of a difference - I don't think it will, really.  She will just have a little torso.

I don't know if this pattern is truly free, as it comes with a great deal of nagging to join FOC.   Grin

XD I thought I was going to scream some bad words there at the end trying to get my needle thru the body (I used upholstery thread). But in the end, I think the poppet came out pretty darned good. And she'll know some choice naughty words!!!

Everything I make comes with swearing.

Well.  I will admit to some swearing this morning when I was apparently incapable of filling a bobbin.  I had several tries with muttered profanities that reached a crescendo when the spool flew off the machine and hid itself in the dust underneath a cabinet.   Angry

But it wasn't the pattern's fault.
