I've spread the Poppet love   My mother borrowed my patterns (Poppet and Elenore) and is working on a blue fairy.  *I* can't wait to see it because I know it can only be gorgeous!

I've let myself get talked into making Poppets for... everyone!  At least it seems that way, I now have at least 8 lined up, in a multitude of themes...  A handful for little girls with lace and frills, a Doctor Who (#4, if you wanna know), an S&M fairy (this will be fun, I'll be learning how to braid for a cat o'nine tails!  ), Xena...

With all of this lined up, I've taken a brief break from sewing, though (I've been continuously making dolls since November) and am learning to crochet by making a pair of baby Converse shoes for my newest-to-be baby boy cousin (coming this May).

I've made my first poppet but I don't want to post him yet. I will be making a similar poppet for a swap I've joined. I don't want to give away the surprise, you know?

WEEEE! It's so fun hearing about all these new poppet children! I, for one, would LOVE to see a Xena poppet!  She was my hero growing up!

  I might be certifiable though. I decided to make 10 poppets for the current sweat shoppe O_____O on the up side I DO get the opportunity to make a zombie poppet, a Legolas Poppet, and a poppet from the musical "Cats!" So I'm a happy certifiable poppet-mommy  I might be able to swing a mass post when they're done ^^

 ....Oh......and another poppet for a swap I'm in but I don't know if partner reads this thread so I'm going to  !

BTW, I said I'd let you know if I'd host the mini poppet swap - sorry, not gonna happen. I just finished a 4-hour exam, am 4 chapters behind in class, have a giant cold lodged in my chest and am working 40 hrs/week because my FT co-worker quit. (a bit too much for part time eh?) So until I catch up and they hire me a coworker, I may have to take a break from swapping, much less organizing. I'm sad about that because I was on a roll - I just finished 6 dotees, 2 Junker Jane style dolls + accessories and a little stuffie, and there's a sock monkey swap and possibly a ninni and a poppet swap lurking. *sigh*  I don't think I'll have much spare time till spring break, and after that not till 2nd week of May.

I definitely would run a summer swap - It will be my last swap hurrah if I get into the nursing program. I'll know about that by April.

My sister loves zebras and zebra print things. She also likes punk rock.
I found some zebra print felt at Walmart and will be making her a zebra poppet with a punk rock flair. He's going to be epic! If he turns out as cute as I think he will, I'll make him a girlfriend later.

I just have to finish the poppet for my swap item! **flails about** I'm nearly finished with him and he's going to be EPIC!

I thought joining would mean u others can push me along coz im kinda nervous about making one...
