yes, her legs and arms dangle nicely because of the weight. She looked nekkid, so I give you, *trumpets sounding*

I lengthened the torso to make her more proportionate, made her feet bigger to balance her head, and gave her thumbs.  The knee, hip and elbow have seams across to make them bendy.  I like her this way, but I was thinking of interchangeable "parts" in the pattern.  That way, if you like the stiff bent arm, you can use that one, maybe a boy body, maybe a head with elf or animal ears, that sort of thing.

I also drafted the dress.

Thoughts?

OH! I like the lengthened torso and bigger feet. I can see how her hips are a little more pronounced now. I'm not sure about the new hand, might just be the snakeskin pattern or my overactive imagination but feels a little crab-like... I can't tell... maybe it's just the angle. I think it's just me. The dress is too cute tho!

Oh fun. All of the dolls look great. I like the idea of interchangeable parts. That way you could make it in the different styles depending on the mood you were in.

I would also be curious about pattern-making...

...and yes, interchangeable parts would rock!

I also would like to know if there's a special program on the computer to draw a pattern & I love the inchangeable parts Idea. That's a cute dress you made "ghille"!!
Also the longer torso & bigger feet look good too!! The hand looks good with the thumb. I think why it looks maybe like a crab is the fabric. I also like the sand Idea!! Will have to try this Doll pattern soon!!

Wow, I went away to learn how to build houses out of mud and came back to an awesome new doll pattern! Will give it a go, just have to unpack and tidy up first. Ugh.

I don't use a program to make pattterns, but I am going to start.  I usually do it the old fashioned way.  If it needs to be mirrored, I draw the half and then flip and trace.

But I have recently acquired some skill with adobe illustrator, and I think once I get the pattern finalized, I am going to scan what I have and use it as a template to draw the pattern with the pen tool.

Sorry this pattern is taking so long, but I should have some time next week.  I was hired (internship) to make patterns for a shop that was contracted to make uniform vests for the local Catholic academy and that pattern is due tomorrow afternoon.
