That's the sweetest thing, I'm sure she was elated, she's probably been dying to get her hands on them!  Grin

Oh kay so my mom came over and picked up one of my poppets and asked my daughter if she could take one home with her. My 2 1/2 yr old daughter replied "No mommy's toys."
And that is when it occurred to me that she thinks they are my toys and that is why she doesn't play with them. She had tried before while I was making them and I always ask for them back to keep working on them.  And that is why she thinks they are mine and she wont play with them.
So Friday my mom and I took my daughter and my niece on a shopping trip with us so I let them both choose a poppet to take with us and play with for the day. My daughter chose the first poppet I ever made and carried her around all day. Well that must have been all the encouragement she needed to see that they are hers too because she has not stopped playing with them yet. As a matter of fact last night I picked up the 2 they had out and put them up on the shelf and this morning she got a stool and got her poppet down and this evening she has all 8 that were on the shelf lined up on the floor playing with them all. Needless to say I am ecstatic. Just wanted to share.

Kids perception is so funny! I'm glad you got it sorted out and she is enjoying them!

That is so cute Beth8144! I'm sure your daughter was super excited to play with mommy's special dolls  Smiley

Thanks for all your ideas everyone- I am thinking that I might get a pair of huge glass eyes- you know the ones that teddy bear makers etc use? I think they have a lovely "deep" look to them and a cutie kind of feel. I'd like to do polymer eyes, but I suck BAD at symmetry and I'm sure the poor thing would end up with one huge eye/one oval shaped one! I'm always open to suggestions etc tho Smiley

thankies again!

Littlezo received so I can now introduce The Country Mouse.  Her eyes drove me crazy but they came out okay.  Her head is poseable too.  Instead of sewing it on, I jointed it with some dental floss.

I took my jointing needle through one side of the neck and out the other, leaving half of the floss on one side and half on the other.

Then, I poked the needle up through the hole in the neck and out the top of the head.

Cut the needle off.

Then I threaded the other side of the floss and poked that up through the hole in the head and out the top.

take the needle off.

Settle the head hole onto the neck.

Pull up the floss coming out the top of the neck, pull it tight and tie it.

Looks kinda ugly, you need to put hair on, but it does the job.

Ghilie the country mouse is fantastic! She looks so sweet. I had thought of jointing the head as well, but never got around to trying it. Glad to know it works!
