I claim heini for a laptop bag.

This is my 2nd claim, 0 sent, 0 received.

Here's some info about me:

I'm a grad student in art history, 31, living in North Carolina.  I knit, sew and have been known to make books and paper.  Before writing my dissertation disappeared my time and money, I considered myself a photographer and printmaker (letter press).  My husband and I have chickens and hope someday to have a farm with a flock of sheep, some dairy goats, a mule, and lots of barn cats.

I love natural colors and materials, especially organic and sustainable.  My house and person are done up in various shades of blues, greens, browns, and crme/white.

I love simple things with sleek lines.  My style has been influenced by Minimalism (http://www.chinati.org/ ), the Bauhaus (http://www.bauhaus.de ), and Frank Lloyd Wright (http://www.taliesinpreservation.org/ ).

I follow William Morris's maxim:  Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful. Similarly, I appreciate the Wabi-Sabi aesthetic (http://wabisabihouse.com/_wsn/page2.html ).

Here's my wishlist of lovely things (with bolded wishes that are xmas-related and therefore at the top of my list--but i'd be really happy with anything!)

KNITTING SUPPLIES
crochet books (for a teenager friend who is learning to crochet--so, simple / "fun" projects would be perfect)

25-50 yds of fingering weight yarn in BLACK + 25-50 yds of fingering weight in WHITE [these yarn scraps are for the skull patterning in the jack sparrow socks, an Xmas present for my husband: http://katydidknits.blogspot.com/2006/06/jack-sparrows-favorite-socks.html , and I would really appreciate some help with these in time for the holidays!]

200-400 yds of soft yarn (worsted OR DK weight) for a beaded scarf, in a color to match peacock-color beads [the beads are shades of deep emerald green to teal-ish-blue]

enough of a soft, chunky / bulky weight yarn to make a regular-length scarf for my dad, in a dark neutral color (charcoal grey, dark blue, etc.)

hemp yarn, any weight

2000 matte beads in a natural color, size 4/0, to make a beaded wrap for my mom (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring06/PATTtendrils.html )

stitch markers, perhaps like these: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5032001&section_id=5031385  thanks simplyfussfree!

Knitted Dalek like this for my Doctor-Who-loving dad:  http://www.entropyhouse.com/penwiper/who/extermaknit.html
[he would love the Dalek as is, but if possible it would be perfect if it could be made left unstuffed and slightly modified to work as a french-press cozy!)

amigurumi robot, dalek, farm animal set, or cactus / cactii

Surprise me with something from my wist!

I'm a 21 year old college student living in a dorm. I like useful items because I have very little space and dont like clutter. My style is pretty casual. My favorite colors are reds, black, cream and jewel toned colors. I don't like neons, pastels, pinks, yellows or purples. I love to crochet and knit (beginner) but have tried many other crafts. I love to sew but don't have access to my sewing machine during the school year. I love to read (fantasy and sci-fi, romance), cook, bake, sleep and, of course, craft when I have the time. Some of my favorite characters are Stitch (Lilo and Stitch) and Totoro (My Neighbor Totoro). I love kittens and cats! Take a look at my wists for more stuff I like. Thanks!

I claim Avian Flight for a wisty surprise!

This is my first claim this round, 0 sent, 0 received

I live in Seattle, WA USA, I'm 22, live with my boyfriend and our non-traditional family, and I'm currently unemployed.  I'm vegan but not anal about it, and I'm in love with sealife. I have two cats, two bunnies (might be getting more soon), and an immortal rat.  I love ugly and obnoxious colors, along with deep shades of blue, red, green, and purple, but I hate white and mo-st pastels, ESPECIALLY pastel yellow.  Hot pink and olive green are my two big colors, and I also like 70's colors and vintagey looking things.  Tea gives me migraines and I'm allergic to latex.

I have been crafting my whole life, sewing for 15 years now (I'm 22), and knitting seriously for about 4.  I've recently started making things without patterns, and have also started writing my own.  I'm always interested in learning new crafts, and there's very few things I haven't tried at least once.

Winning themes for me are anything relating to realistic sealife (fish, jellies, anemonies, kelp, octopi, etc), bugs (like slugs/snails, bees, spiders and millipedes), birds (my favorites are pigeons, ducks, geese, and parrots), cute cartoon dinosaurs, and Asian art (including but not limited to Tibet).  I don't, however, like kanji or any writing in a language I don't understand.

**WISHLIST**

ITEMS

+ knitting bag
+ desk lamp for crafting and taking pictures in my dark house
+ toys for my kitten (he loves jingly things, doesn't seem to care for catnip)
+ a usable fish mug
+ sturdy, medium size handbag/purse that I can hang over my shoulder.  My wallet is huge (about 7"x4") and I'd like to start using it
+ embellished t-shirt or long sleeved shirt (size small), stenciled, painted, patched, or whatever with any of my themes
+ something tall and cylindrical to hold all my paintbrushes (I have about 30 of them)
+ soy wax candles
+ something from/inspired by my wist
+ framed fishy art I can hang on my barren walls

SUPPLIES

+ blocking board type thing for knitting
+ non-vegan yarns from your stash (I won't buy wool new, but I love recycling and want to felt and dye SO BAD!  If you have any wool that you are never going to use, I can make a good home for it.)
+ super cool pencils (designing with pen is messy!)
+ Men's ties, none with cartoon characters please.
+ 24" circular needles, size 5 and/or 7
+ issues of Interweave knits pre-winter 2006

KITS

+ wire jewelry making (with instructions and tips please!  I've got pliers and things but I don't know how to use them!)
+ soap-making kit (vegan-friendly supplies only and instructions, please)
+ yarn dying (I'd like to try kool-aid)

YUM (please only send these things if you are 100% certain they are vegan! ask if you have any questions)

+ Chocolate almond clusters (I can't find them here anywhere GRRRR!)
+ Tropical source chocolate bars (mint and crispy rice; they disappeared!  I can't find them anymore!)
+ Awesome popcorn seasonings
+ cool popcorn kernels

I claim mimiw for various fabrics from her list.

second claim
out: 1 sent (0 received, 1 in transit, 1 in progress including this claim)
in: 0 received

Let me see, my name is Kerri, age 31.  I live in Maine with the hubby, one 19 yr old college student and a cutie pie 4 yr old girl.  My husband also has another daughter in college.  We have pets, 4 kitties, a doggie and a fish that is living FOREVER, seriously she's almost 7 years old.

I'm kind of crass, usually quite inappropriate humor wise.  I try to keep myself in check until I know someone.

My mother owned a craft store and I worked there full time from ages 9-15 so I've always had my hands into one craft or another.  I tend to go in spurts, flitting from interest to interest.

My taste swings towards cutsie Japanese, Sanrio (Hello Kitty , Chococat, Tim and Tammy, JellyBean, Chi Chai Monchan, Landry, SugarBunnies, Tenorikuma, etc...), traditional Asian, edge, punk, old school punk (I like both.)  I love Halloween, Day of the Dead, kokopellis, skulls, birds, stuffies, genuine vintage and anything else that strikes my fancy.

My fetishes: Pens, pencils, art supplies, journals and notebooks, paper, blankets and throws, fuzzy knit socks, incense, baking scented candles, animals and wooden boxes.

Colors! I love hot pink, deep or deepish purple, black, white, brown with light pink, brown with baby blue, chocolate brown and red.

OK, on to the list!

Books

  • Any Japanese felt craft books (used is great!) except these three I already have ordered:
Book 1
Book 2
Book 3
  • Plushorama

DIY Craft Kits (pre-made or you put together, either is awesome!)

This is stuff I have either never done or did so long ago I have little or no supplies and have forgotten most of it.

  • Screenprinting Kit - I can dream! LOL
  • Stenciling on Clothing (freezer paper method) Kit
  • Book Binding/Making Kit
  • Resin Jewelry Kit
  • Soldering Glass Slides Jewelry Kit (I can buy the iron and I already have jewelry findings, wires and clasps.)

Supplies

  • Already dyed/colored roving for making felted critters and such. Any and all colors welcome, zebras should be purple if you ask me.
  • Simply Spray Stencil Spray
  • Embossing powders (I already have light blue, purple and silver.)
  • Background patterned rubber stamps.
  • Small alphabet typewriter style stamps (the old fashioned letters with the circles around them, I have a set without circles.)
  • Linoleum for making lino printing blocks
  • Paint made for lino printing like Speedball (all colors needed, doesn't have to be fancy brandname.)
  • Joann's Mat stacks like these.  I heart them so much.  I'm a paper fiend.  Out of season is fine, any size, clearance whatever LOL.  I love it all.

Crafted Items

  • MOST WANTED ITEM! WEIRD REQUEST WARNING! I have Raynaud's Syndrome which means my hands are extremely sensitive to cold.  I live in Maine so yeah, harsh winters.  I sometimes find it difficult to craft due to cold hands.  I would REALLY like some wrist warmers knitted/crocheted in a lightweight warm yarn with the fingers but the tips missing  from first joint up.  This way my hands and fingers can be warm and I can still craft with the tips of my fingers showing.  I can send measurements my fingers are short.  I hope that makes sense.  I think they might be called knucks! Thank you Sansa!! You've saved me from a whole craftless season Smiley pending
  • Knitted or crocheted warm fuzzy maryjane slippers 7/M US size
  • A snuggly throw or lapquilt made from anything other than fleece.

Surprise Me with One of These Themes

Please no jewelry unless it's a fabric/yarn/wood or something wristcuff as I'm allergic to most metals and I have tons of purses, hats and scarves so those aren't needed either.  Thank you!!!

Misc.

  • Compartmented boxes for organization, even a tackle box would work.  I have so many little things that need places!

Thank you in advance for anyone who chooses me.  I'll post pics Smiley  If you think you have something I'd like that's not on my list, feel free to PM me, If I covet it, I can add it so you can claim it. Smiley

MOST WANTED ITEM! WEIRD REQUEST WARNING

Crafted items

Knitted Death Of Rats

Book Plates

Polymer clay covered crochet hooks

Small metal charms, scissors, thimble needle. To go with above project. Could ecrafted or purchased.

Supplies

Cream cashmere wool. This resembles felt. I need several small pieces to make a chatelaine.

Acid Dyes

Kool Aid

Procion dyes I've never dyed anything and have gotten my hands on some undyed handspun wool. It would look better coloured. Blues/greens preferably. Or rich red.

Kona Bay fabric scraps 2.5 inches or larger

Yellow (30) and purple (5) charm squares 100% cotton 3 inches

Themes I like

Dragons

Asian inspired

Celtic

Firefly/Serenity

Pratchett

Hopefully this is enough. I am in another Wish List Swap and have tried to avoid duplication unless I would like more than one.

I claim Sansa for a knitted death of rats *grin* He's so fun to make!

This is my first claim. None sent, none received.

I live in Uppsala, Sweden. I'm 25 years old and since my fiance is away working I live alone at the moment. I miss him, but on the other hand there's no one who can freak out when there's crafty stuff everywhere in the flat. I'm on my last year of studying before becoming a pharmacist and I can be very geeky about drugs, toxicology and pharmacy.

I enjoy knitting but I also like to make designs with hama/perler beads and paint on anything that sits still long enough. Water colour painting is my summer hobby and body paint is a lot of fun but I don't get to paint on people as often as I'd like. I sew sometimes, mostly when I get a crazy idea for a gift to someone I like, and while I can handle a sewing machine I'm not that good at it.

I've got rheumatism that affects my hips, knees and shoulders and I love to be warm and snuggly since being cold can make it worse. I've recently discovered the wonder that is wrist warmers.

I like bright fiery colours, but I can't wear bright red or things like that close to my face without looking like a vampire Sad I like black, red (not tomato red), different purple colours... Green can be nice. Chocolate brown too. I'm not that good at figuring out what colours look good on me...

Sewn things
Big wish: A scoodie with dark purple fur lining. Not too bright purple (I'm not good at describing colours). I don't mind looking like I killed a Muppet, but I don't like blindingly bright colours next to my face since I'm pretty pale. My winter jacket is dark purple, more blueish than reddish if that makes sense.

And another big one: A Kroko hot water bottle cover like the poor guy from The Asylum (http://www.parapluesch.de/). There is a Kroko plushie in my wists but I like the way he looks in the game more. I have a hot water bottle already and I can measure it for you.

Cloth pads. I've been wanting to try the circle pad but any model will do. I'm not a heavy bleeder and I'm just as happy with pads without wings. Recycled fabrics are fine and I don't mind bright colours to bleed on Wink
Circle pad: http://shewhorunsintheforest.googlepages.com/

A bag for storing my knitting when I want to take a project with me. It would be nice with something like a yarn-guide for the yarn to run through to avoid escaping balls of yarn...

A small heat pad in nice fabric, or a new cover to my old one (pm or email me for size). I can fill it with rice myself for cheaper postage. Thanks mimiw!

Crocheted things
The flat kitty coaster from my wists. Any kitty-colour and pattern as long as it looks cute and squashed.
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=157293.0

A red eyed tree frog: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=195987.0

Craft supplies
Felt soap kit (or just a felted soap, they look so neat)

Or a soap kit? I'd like to try soap making but I'm not sure where to start...

Small things/misc
A row counter bracelet.

Dpn point protectors to keep my socks-in-progress from poking innocent bystanders.

Stitch markers suitable for knitted hats or to mark my place in lace patterns.

Earrings like these: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=15623.0

Sewer slug from Flushed away. As a plushie or polymer clay thing perhaps?

Hair clips or something to keep my hair out of my face.

Something inspired by my wists.
