hello crafty people! so i asked my best friend what she wanted for christmas and she replied, "anything argyle." since i didn't want to run out and buy her a bunch of socks, i made a jordy bag instead.( i'm hoping that it does, in fact, look like argyle to someone besides me.)

and now we come to my dilemma: this is the first time i've used any kind of handle other than a fabric one. i think they are a bit wonky. so, please vote on whether i should:

A) leave them horizontal like in this picture, and ignore the wonkiness:

B) turn them vertical, like in this picture, which appears to correct the wonkiness, but looks a little odd to me:

C) take the handles off entirely and put on some fabric ones.

or feel free to offer alternative suggestions. thanks!

p.s. here's a pic of the inside. it closes with a snap and has an inside pocket.

Do they make the handles in triangle or diamond shapes?

That's really beautiful!  I love the handle horizontal, but it's cool that it can be repositioned.  Are the diamonds appliques and then you embroidered the lines?  So clever!  Very chic!

Shocked my yes that does look like argyle to me and quite awesome!

hmm...I'm thinking leave them as is in the way that she can change the position to what she likes best.

do you think another line of sitching on the loop holding the handles (decreasing the amount of space the handles have to move around) would help with the wonkiness?

thanks for the opinions, everyone! i think sewpixie may have the right idea - if i leave the handles as is, she can decide which way she likes better. unfortunately, i don't think an extra line of stitching will correct it - i think the loops themselves are crooked  Sad . *looks guilty* i tried, but there was snap installation going on at the time, and i didn't notice it until later.

peirodot, good idea, but i looked and didn't see any triangle or diamond handles.

yes, the diamonds on applique and the criss-cross lines are (machine) embroidered. i finally mastered applique on my machine! well, as long as the are only straight lines and angles to turn and no curves. hehe.

thanks again, everyone!
