Also, if the book was published more than 28 years ago, its copyright may have lapsed.  Sarah, you can go here to search the records and see if the copyright was renewed.  http://www.copyright.gov/records/  Or maybe let us know the title so we can search eBay or Amazon for it?  Anyway, not sure what you meant that it went crazy last time you posted a pattern, but we wouldn't want to cause you trouble asking you to share.  Thanks for any info you've got!

the date inside says 1979 - so not quite there.  also, i have been reading some conversations about copyright and all that in different forums lately and i'd rather err on the side of caution and not hand the pattern around willynilly.  wouldn't want some publishing company coming after me or something.  hehe.  Smiley

what i meant by crazy was the last time i posted something to a forum, i had a couple requests for the pattern - so i agreed to share it with them.  after i did that i ended up getting like 40 or more emails offsite asking for the pattern and since i had already shared it with some people, i felt like i had to share it with them as well.  so i don't want to appear as if i'm "greedy" and "hiding" the pattern, but it is just more comfortable for me to now say that i won't share it up front.

but i will give the book title - i found it in a thriftshop, so i'm sure it's out there - it's called A Sunset Book, Crochet, Techniques & Projects.

Cool!  Thanks so much Sarah!  I know what you mean about too many requests for something and feeling like you have to share with everyone.  That happened to me one time on a yahoo group with a tutorial I made about bias tape.   Tongue

Anyway... Mojo, check it out:  http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0376041315/qid=1095046404/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/103-1654284-8779013?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

Amazon's pretty cool sometimes, huh?  Would you recommend the book for more than just this motif pattern Sarah?  I'm intrigued by the title, sounds like a useful book.  Thanks!  You're as cool as your hats!   Grin

heh.  how cool.. it's on amazon!  i never woulda thunk to look there since i just randomly got it for a few cents at a thriftshop.  Cheesy

hmmm..  i mainly bought it because it had a couple neat hat patterns in it and that shawl motif  and it had a really nice section in the back dedicated to some wild freehand crochet stuff.  so i'd say, if you can get it for cheap, it's a fun buy.  hehe.

i went to this woman's estate sale and she was a weaver/knitter/etc and was selling off what must have been her entire collection of yarn and supplies, i got tons of wool so i've been crocheting and felting little handbags.  i needlefelted on some of the embellishments.

some random hats:

(hmm.. sorry if the photos look wonky.  for some reason when i post it's automatically putting in weirdly sized img width & height tags.  open the images in a new window for a clear non-wonky view.  thanks!)
