I worked up a couple of these for a swap. I kinda based them on the idea for the pattern found here: http://bronsfiberstuff.typepad.com/brons_blog_ii/2007/01/the_second_stor.html#comments
in terms of increasing and decreasing, but used different stitches. In the smaller one (silver button), alternating rows of hdc in the back loop, hdc in the front loop-kind of-to get more of a "knit" look, and in the bigger one (black button), single crochet seed stitch, which I not only really like the look of, but works up so quickly since it's so easy to crochet into the chains! Oh, and the awesome silver button came from Superhooker in a swap!

mm, these pics are kinda poo, I might try to take new ones in the daylight tomorrow. I hope my swap partner likes these!
