I can figure out most everything because it's so similar to american terms, however there's one I just can't figure out. in the pattern I'm using it says  3ch (1st tr), 1ch, 2tr into same loop (shell) 3 ch, pc, 3 ch. I know what all of it says UNTIL pc. What in the world is this? or is it a typo?

I just found this link: http://www.knitting-crochet.com/abb.html

It is a chart that tells you what all the 'letters' stand for, and this one says that pc stands for 'popcorn stitch'.  It should say somewhere in the pattern instructions exactly what they want you to do for the stitch, if not, go here:
http://www.knitting-crochet.com/crochet/crostiand.html
and the last entry tells you how to do the popcorn stitch.
Good luck!!
