Here's my first attempt at "reassigning" a use for trash.  I was inspired by the Ramen zippered pouch that was posted.  I'll be trying that one too.   Wink

This is just a basic, no frills, tote bag.  Lining is just white muslin.

I bought a vinyl tablecloth protector at Big Lots for $3 just so I could do some of these bags.  this was my tester bag.  Besides part of the one sewn side ripping (Chip bag part) when I went to invert it (had to flatten it out again & tape it with clear packing tape before reinverting it), things went pretty smoothly.

Doritos anyone???

I hope it lasts 20 years!  and the freshness date is there, too.  Smiley

Thanks.  Smiley

Strong?  Probably medium.  I wouldn't carry around bricks in it for sure.  But it is lined & the handles are sewn in with 3 lines of stitching.  If I make another one, I might duct tape the inside of the bag for added strength after I sew it, before I turn it.  (If I do it before, I might gunk up my needle)

Love it!  I also love the pouch.  Did you put vinyl on the outside?
