I used to make that all the time.  I haven't made it in years, though.  Not since I made it as a joke for a cat hating boyfriend who took great offense!  Needless to say, that was the end of THAT relationship...

I was truly thinking "WTF? Cat litter with si- inside... on craftster???" when i saw the thumbnail on the main site.  Grin

This is definately the most vomit enducing cake i've seen so far!!!  Grin

It beats:
- the goatse cake (a marzipan "goatse" as the top layer on a chocolate cake)
- the corpse cake (a trunk shaped cake, with torn limbs and gummy worm veins, iced with lots of strawberry sauce)

...why buy it when you can make it yourself?

I made this one year and it was a flop where my husband worked- no one wanted to eat it for fear of ridicule, but then I took it to a pot-luck dinner at the volunteer fire dept dinner and it was a huge hit!  And it really is the tastiest cake.

I did one thing different- I mixed up a little honey with hot water and put it in a squeeze bottle.  Shook it up and then made some little "wet spots" in the litter and also put a bit on the sides as if a cat had sprayed on it, then threw a few crumbs onto that to stick.  It looked so nasty and so real, we loved it.

I recommend this project very highly, it's a hoot and makes a huge cake for a party.  Good job!

I made one last year and everyone took photo. It looked so real I couldn't bear to taste it but I heard it was good.
