My 10 year old saw most of Johnny Dangerously recently (there was some fast forwarding during inappropriate parts!).  So she wanted to be a mobster.  But a girl gangster.  Not a gun moll.  I am pleased with the way the pattern turned out.  I used a heavy shirt weight blend that had silver metallic pinstripes.  The tie and lining for the vest are purple satin.

She's carrying her violin case for a treat bag.  I have another treat bag she got from a trade that I am pinning to the inside to she doesn't get candy dregs on the velvet lining.

She was taught to say, "leave me alone, see, Lake Michigan ain't too far from here, my people from the city will fit you for cement shoes, see..."  Suffice it to say, her mother did not teach her that.  We also got some Joe Piscopo, "my mother didn't give me no candy once.  ONCE."

OMG - She is too cute!  Ya know, when I saw Johnny Dangerously I too felt a life of crime was for me once... ONCE.

That outfit is fantastic!

And isn't it funny how kids' costumes can be scary in ways they don't quite yet understand?
