Record Bowls! Smiley

I made a ton of them, even some colored ones from some wierd 70s square dancing records. LOL

Here's the one I didn't get at the thrift but it was taking up space so I decided I'd get better use out of it as a bowl...

What do ya think??? (Yes, I know... it's not original, but if was fun!)

You actually found a pink record? one of my relatives has been looking for colored records for, like, forever.

I bet melting those was tons of fun Smiley

They're cool. I love the pink one! I've made blue, orange, red and clear before now! Coloured records rock esp when they become bowls!

BTW, the pink record is a H.I.M. album. They sell them at hot topic for like 8 or 9 bucks. Pricey but I already had it and didn't play it so I figured "What the hell?"

Your record bowls are so nice and even.  Usually they look a lot more "freeform."  How do you do that?  I like these much better than others I've seen.

It's not that I don't want to swap, it's that I often don't have time.  But feel free to ask (especially if it's one that's not too time consuming).

I pinch them, hence the burnt fingertips. If I don't like the way they come out I just keep melting them till I get a shape I want. I want to get a vacuum press to do them but they are so expensive.

Thanks for all the love on my bowls! Smiley

Good job!

I've been meaning to do those, someday also. I already use the album covers for wall art and recycled the records. I won't next time.
