this was my first shot at crocheting something.

i didn't have a pattern so i just started by making double crochets and doing my dangdest to go in a circular pattern, adding some increases wherever fancy struck me. eventually, after trying it on a couple times (and ripping out half my work) i figured it was baggy enough to hold all my hair so i quit increasing and made a sort of band thing.

wow, i really need to learn real crochet, don't i?! Cheesy

Very nice! I love the colour, and it looks really good on you. And you already know how to do 'real' crochet - use what you know to make what you want.

See I can't knit.  It took me a while to learn to read patterns.  I went and found super short and easy ones.  Wrote it out without all the short cuts, then went to work that way.  There are some patterns, no matter how I read them I can not figure them out.  But am getting there.

Good job!  I also tend to just go an crochet, and adjust where I need to.  It works, but I also want to learn to follow patterns.

Imagine, as good as you did just winging it, how awesome your things will be with a pattern!!!   Cheesy

Just keep on with it, you rock!
