Okay, I ravaged my husbands old tee shirt drawer and found a big stack of shirts from when he was under the very mistaken idea he was like.. an XXL.. (when he's like a M/L.. I just don't get it!). Anyhow, I found these comfy shirts that just were aching to be nice long tank tops.

This is a before shot, you can see huge shirt, and see the tank top which I modeled it after, since I love how it fits me.

Yay, this is the front of the finished tank top. I am too impatient to wait and have hubby take pics, so you get the myspace style pic. The fit is really good, and this honestly is after i wore this out to a haunted house last night (over a long sleeve black shirt), so the fabric doesn't really stretch and get all loose, stays nice and form fitting. You can see our ugly bathroom but we're in the middle of remodeling, so hey that's how it is.

Now for the little surprise.. Plain in the front (for now) ..and in the back..

I couldn't really get a decent photo of myself from the back, so this is what I took. Tongue I made this little patch from velvet and felt.

Close up of the patch. I tried to use the machine to do a zig zag and started on the nose as you can see, but it didn't want to work quite right.. so I hand stitched the rest and that looks much nicer anyhow. Despite the messed up mouth I think it's really cute.

I do plan on probably putting a little black velvet heart or maybe stacked black and red hearts down near the bottom of the front of the shirt.

I have some more shirts so I plan on making more tanks! Yay.

Wow, that is really cute!
It looks like you put some kind of binding around the top edges maybe? like maybe some left over shirt scrap?
I'm sure there were some good scrap pieces left over ..... we expect to see them put to good use in the near future.
