Hi

I want to make some boxer shorts for my guy friends for christmas, the thing is the pattern I have doesn't show how to make a fly. Could someone tell me how to add a fly to a simple boxer short pattern?

Thanks a lot
Ale

I made a pair of boxer shorts with a fly way back in grade 8 but the fly was sewn down. you could just cut out a fly shape out of the fabric. Sorry I couldn't help.  Huh

I think I can help here.  You will need to allow extra "seam allowance" for the fly part when you're cutting the pieces out.  Then, before you sew anything else, I would fold those pieces under and stitch them down.  Sew the shorts together normally but when you are doing the um...crotch? seam, stop sewing when you get to your folded under parts.  I think you might also want to sew along the bottom of the fly so that the fabric flap that is hanging inside, stays to the correct side.  Then you can add a button if you want to keep the fly closed.  Hope that helps.
