I have a book that's called '63 Easy-To-Crochet Pattern Stitches'.  In the book, you make 63 squares of different stitches and piece them together to form an afghan in the end.  It looks like this:

It would be great if we could support each other as we go along through this project.  It's never too late to join!   Grin  (you know you want to  Wink )
Also, feel free to make your own kinds of squares, with other variations and stuff  Wink.  This CAL is about making our own afghans together, so c'mon, and join!  Smiley

If I can dig up my book (I've had it for years...), I'm in Cheesy I love the stitch pattern ideas that this book has given me over the years but I never attempted the whole afghan before. Maybe this is my chance Cheesy

I've been wanting to make squares with my left over yarn and make an afghan.  This project sounds like what i'm looking for.  I'll start looking for the book.  What size are the squares?  I would like to join in.

I found the it at Amazon.com and it will be here in a few days, so I'm in.  I have a hat to finish and should be done by the time 63 easy to crochet pattern stitches arrives.   Cheesy zigzag

Great!  Zigzag, the squares are 7" (it says things like repeat until it measures 7", so I am assuming, because they are squares, that the other side will come close to 7"  Smiley ).  They also have an edging once it is all finished.

I might join, but I might make 63 of my own 7" squares.

Awesome (I can't wait to see your square)!  I have decided to use Sugar 'n' Cream cotton yarn for my afghan, so I will be making some squares today.   Smiley

Here's my first one! I made it using this pattern: http://www.geocities.com/granniegroup/Simple_Spiral.html?1002303915570

I started another, but it came out a lot smaller than it should have, so I need to frog it.
