Okay, first off, I am in the Army (have been for about 4 years).  Tomorrow at 6:00 a.m. I have to be at work, for the "fun run".  Can anyone tell me when running is fun?  But I digress.  We get to wear a costume if we wish.  It will be very very cold tomorrow morning, so I am just gonna bundle up.  But I am going to wear this hat.

*update*  I wore it to the run today, and I realized there is a certain demographic of people who don't immediately recognize Smurf hats.  So I gabbed with all the other thirty somethings about cartoons back in my day -Thundercats, He-Man, and Captain Planet.  Most people who wore costumes had storebought inflatable ones.  The Commander was a dinosaur (His legs were the dinosaurs front paws and the dinosaurs head was down around the butt.  Some people were there taking pictures, I'll post em if I ever get my hands on em.)

Isn't it the smurfiest?

Thanks to everyone who helped me decide fleece, not yarn was the way to go.

Unfortunately no, just the usual dull ugly army gray uniform.

So cute!! I agree that fleece was the best decision for materials. Smiley

Man, this reminds me of being smurfette when I was a little girl -- but it was just one of those cheepy plastic costumes with the matching mask they used to sell.

So cute!!

That is really adorable.  Fleece was an excellent choice!  I especially love how the bangs are sort of...spirally?  Can't think of a word!

Oh, how I miss the fun runs,... NOT.  I did 14 years on active duty and NOT ONCE did we get to run in costume!  I think I am a little jealous.  My hubby's unit at Fort Drum has their costume day at work today and there is a smurfette there, too.  But her costume is not nearly as smurfalicious!

I love my hubby, but the Army doesn't pay enough for my crafty habit!
