Fantastic idea.  I was thinking you could even use different contact papers, like granite patterned for around the sink.  I'm also seconding the 'upgrades' idea mentioned; a fridge and the like might be easy for you to figure out (and sell!) now that you've got the joins down.

I really love how simple and clean this is, especially compared to all the ugly tacky plastic toys I've just finished wading through at the store.  I did see a really nice child-sized stainless steel pots and pans set at Target, though -- that might go with this perfectly!

No wonder they chose this for a Best of 2007.  Fabulous!  If you were really into it, I think you could market this.  I picture it being sold at Ikea.  Ingenious!!
