kargrrl - I can't tell you how tickled I am with my bucket.  I told my husband about it .... and I have a friend that wants me to teach her how to sew - I keep telling her that I learned to sew thanks to Craftster tutorials - which is totally true - and I think this will be her first project.  I think she can handle it!  I am going to make another one tomorrow - I will post up my pics - I am going to add pockets!  I am so stoked!

Hooray, craftydeb! I'm so glad you figured it out (and sorry if my directions only added to the confusion...I was winging it!). I definitely want to make some of these, so I'm glad you figured it all out and then posted how you made it! And it came out lovely! Love the fabric!

I managed to achieve (almost) squareness!!! only problem is that I thought 20cm would be smaller...  so, apart from storing inside some yarns, it stores some scrap fabric on the bottom too. I interfaced it because the fabric was too thin to keep shape, and even now the top rounds so it's like the roundsquared bucket but I love it

You are officially my new hero.  I've been trying to figure out how I might stretch my wee unemployed budget out to encompass some new storage spots in my craft room...but given the vast amounts of fabric, interfacing and wall space I have in there and your lovely idea, I don't have to!

well I've been idly surfing this site all morning, about to head upstairs to my sewing machine to do something but having read this tutorial, I am going up now!! I am making buckets

I got some awesome skeleton fabric from ammasmama in a dios de los muertos swap and that is about to become a bucket, maybe a smallish one for my bathroom shelf to store make-up and stuff.

Ok so I have made my first one (30 minutes not bad!) its a small one and supposed to be 10cm square, but its more like 9X11 because I didnt cut out the squares very well, I used three layers as the skeleton fabric was very lightweight, but even with a stiffish inner layer it was more rounded on top, so I top-sewed on the outside of each corner, from top to bottom, taking in just about 1 mm, this makes it sit square and gives a little more stability.
