I really really want knit/crochet/sew a shawl/capelette, maybe even a shrug for my wedding.  I've found some patterns, like Knitty, "I Do" but nothing is really looking perfect yet.  Has any bride ever made something to go over her dress?  I'm trying to cover up a back and shoulder tattoo.  The future in laws don't approve  Undecided

Any ideas...??

You can purchase a cover up makeup now that will cover tattoos. Not sure what it is called, but have heard of people using it while working places that tattoos are not permitted to be seen.

Or you could just tell the in-laws to get over it! LOL

another option is looking at sweaters.  I made my bridesmaids' dresses, and being that they were strapless and it was December se didn't want them to freeze, so we bought them sweaters (could easily be made though).  They were just little cardigans that had fur collars.  They didn't look that hot in my closet, but they looked fantastic on my bridesmaids, so a sweater is somethign to consider.  Good luck.  If it's any consolation my maid of honour had some visable tatoos and before the wedding I was a little nervous about how they'd look but in all honesty she looked incredably gorgeous and no one (not even the snobby inlaws) noticed them or complained.  So all in all, if you think you'll be cold, cover up.  It's it's just about hte tatoos don't worry (if people are fixated on them it's their problem not yours) they will be the ones missing out on how incredable you'll look.
