IU admit I was inspired by all those knitted scarves out there ... but knitting takes sooo looong! so I tried to interpret the dragon scarf idea in crochet.... and yes it lacks eyes ... sigh ... I couldn't find any sew-on googly eyes so until I do it will be a blind dragon.  the yarn is this five or six multistrand stuff I got off ebay and the blue is some eyelash that I "borrowed" from my mum.... Smiley  I * had* a picture on my camera of the whole scarf laid out ... but it turned out overexposed and aweful  .. so here is the head and the tail (the middle is pretty much more of the same).  I made it by making two tapered rows (ten stitches on each side .. its too wide I should have only used six or seven stitches) with some creativeness on the nose .. and then I turned it sideways and made a long row of waves on each side and slip-stiched them together with the purple underneath and the blue on top.  The colours look a little weird; there's no orange or pink in it... its a very *grape" to "maroon" colour.

I like it without the googly eyes!  It makes for a nicely subtle dragon, the nostrils and ridged back enough to pique the curiosity of the more observant and discerning viewer....

hey thanks!  I don't know if I could provide a tutorial though because I kind of made it up as I went along with the increases & decreases til it looked about right and then it was just a long strip to deal with.

At first i thought "this must have eyes!' but the more I look at it, the more i like it without the eyes.

Awesome either way.
