great job!! I have a very similar fabric, it might not be as thick. I would like to make me one for work, a good alternative to a briefcase.

awesome bag! Smiley

quick question, is what you call the lining the interface, or did you interface onto the lining?

i ironed-on interfacing onto the "wrong" side of the outer fabric.

and i think i paid between $3 - $5 for the coat.

around here most thrift stores have "free" bins with the things they don't think they can sell.. slightly holey things or just too faded etc..
free bins nearly always have lined mens jackets for some reason. so wahoo.. free messenger bags!
raiding your mom and dads closet, or even your grandpas for old 80's jackets they don't want anymore might be a good idea for coats like this too.
