Maybe just change the...
OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS > Halloween board to...
"Halloween and Costume Occasions"?

Good idea!

Sounds like a happy compromise. I know I'd like to post my SCAdian garb up...

I've been here a full year now and as those of us who love Halloween know, the costuming season approaches! But it's not just Halloween. Cosplay, LARP, dance competions and Renn Faires go year round.

In the past (both by experience and searching) costumes and questions about making them get scattered all over Craftster. Some go in Holidays, some go in Clothing, some go in Miscelaneous. There's Halloween, Cosplay, Renn Faire, LARP, dancers of various genres, and more I'm sure I'm forgetting. The problem with this is people wind up asking questions in places where they may not get the best answer.

Therefore I propose the following additions under the CLOTHING heading:
Costumes: Completed Projects
Costumes: Discussions and Questions

We've also considered changing Halloween to "Halloween and other Costume Occasions."  Currently, all costumes/costume questions other than Halloween belong in Clothing, though.

Yes but I'ver seen quite a few costuming questions pop up in the Miscelaneous board because it's not clothes, so they don't know where to put it & the question gets asked away from the majority of the seamstresses.

I responded to the other thread on here a while back, but once again, I wholeheartedly agree!  Costumes (and related accessories) do get spread around quite a bit, and for folks who enjoy looking at, as well as crafting, their own costumes, it makes it difficult and tedious to keep up with what everyone's doing.  And, after a lot of thought, I think that to put them in the Halloween board wouldn't work so well.  There are a lot of non-Halloween-related costumers out there who just wouldn't think to even look at the Holidays board for a forum for their work.  And it seems like it would create a battle of costumes versus all the other Halloween goodies folks make.  So...my $.02.

I just merged the (three) costume board suggestion threads.  Thanks, all! Smiley

Well, people have been asking since 2004....

Tthere should be a lot more requests in total then! Cheesy

...I do like the idea, though.  I hate that costumes get mixed in with general clothing.  Skirt, pants, pants, giant 5-person dragon costume for parade, shirt, skirt... Cheesy

If you are looking for more requests then I'll throw in on this.  I haven't posted my costumes since they aren't for Halloween and the clothing board seemed like the wrong place. And I figure if I post them to the Halloween Board in the middle of the summer then no one will ever see them.
