So here's the problem, I want to make a quilt but don't have enough time to quilt it. So instead of batting I bought a fleece blanket so then I wouldn't have to quilt it. The original plan was to just bind the quilt top to the fleece blanket but then I got to thinking that it may be a bit tacky. I'm really picky about two types of materials mixing so I'm really unsure about this. What do you guys think? Should I bind the cotton quilt top to the fleece blanket or should I use the blanket as batting and attach a regular cotton backing?

Binding should be fine.

Thanks for the replies. My first thought was it sounded snuggly but then I started to wonder if I just seemed lazy instead, lol.

I love using fleece as backing 'cause I can skip the batting. I do still quilt or tie so it won't shift. Tacking should do the trick, though. Can't wait to see!

Definitely make sure to tack it down as it will pull your seams apart eventually otherwise.

Thanks for the tips guys. I would've just binded it and called it done. It's for a Christmas swap so it'll be awhile before pics.

depending on the size, i wouldnt quilt it, i know i dont like alot of lines on fleece...

i do like the idea of tacking it, especially if the fleece has a design on it

it does sound super snuggly though Wink

dont be mad that i have a clue
