Is your dining room supposed to match your kitchen? In my house, the living room and dining room are open to each other, but there is a small wall separating the kitchen from the dining room.

My kitchen is blue and brown (Ratatouille) and my living room is red/black/brown. What would be more appropriate for my dining room? I am so afraid I have made a mistake with my kitchen (even though I love it) because it doesn't match anything else in the house! I am so afraid of looking tacky.

Help!

Paint the dividing wall brown and then do everything else however you like. As long as you have some kind of unifying element you should be fine.

I'm with cheebz on this one. Use the brown as a unifying element. You could make it totally different and go with a yellow tone, thus every room being different, but still in the main color box. Good luck!
