All these costumes are seriously awesome. We're a talented bunch, us Craftsters. Wink

I went as a period drama zombie this year, which was uber fun. Costume totally homemade, excluding the brooch at the front of the dress.

Yes, period drama zombies drink cans of warm Carlsberg when needs must.

it was up in the air (as usual) if we were going out this halloween,
so i spend a bit making a mask the night before (and morning and afternoon of)
lots of clay, some paint and embroidery floss, and 13 hours later, i had a mask.

i ended up having to pick up some black cream make up for the other half(he did gene simmons),
and the only package of black, had blood in it, and i just couldnt help myself....

i really didnt know what i was doing,
other than making a mask that would fit over my glasses

(clicks to larger)

well, I dont celebrate halloween, I dont even like it, but we had a costume birthday party last saturday, and I think it is the right place to post it, I made my daughters, my husbands and mine, everything at the last minute, it always happens like this. so here they are:

my husband's fake boots were a pain in the ass, they dont look like I wanted, and the pony has a beautiful tail that you cant see in the pic, but I am sort of happy with these.

Turned out we were in the middle of moving in the weeks and days before Halloween, so I didn't have much time to devote to this project, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out anyway. He wanted to be an elf, so this is inspired by Legolas. I had taken all the measurements, then didn't know where I'd written them down when it came time to make the tunic ... so it should have been shorter. But he liked it this way, so I didn't bother fixing it.

The blue on his arms is the shirt he's wearing underneath. We couldn't find anything that matched better in his dresser, and I didn't have time to do sleeves on the tunic.

And ... pumpkins. The top two were done by his friends, the bottom one is his (with some carving help from Dad).

And the rest of the family!

I'm so proud of this costume; It was my first time making my costume, and I'm hooked!

This year's.....

It's really more assembled than crafted, but I did make my hat, belt and facial hair.
