Hi Mcjulie-o,

The ties are sewn together along the sides with a triple-zigzag.  I have instructions on my blog.  Just click on the link and the go to the October archives.  Then scroll all the way down to the October 1st entry.  The instructions are pretty basic, but you can get the idea.  There are many many craftsters making necktie skirts and everyone seems to have their own way.  Just get some ties and give it a try!

Take care!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
I just couldn't figure out how he sewed them together w/o opening them up, and leaving them open along each tie boggled the mind (sartorially speaking, I mean  Cheesy )  I figured it was a fashion that hadn't reached deep to the heart of Texas where I am!!!  I should change my name to "Clueless"

Actually I kind of like the idea of a necktie hula skirt!  You could wear it over your jeans.....  Hmmmm...   I'll get back to you on this.

Necktie hula skirt sounds about as cute as Andrew being crafty.    Cheesy

Making her a skirt? That's so precious... And the skirt's awesome, too.

I caught my husband dinkin' around with my sewing machine the other day.  He made me a glove out of scrap material.  It was the cutest thing ever but I wish he could sew like Andrew:)  The neck of my glove is so tight that I have to commit to wearing it awhile before I tug it on...
