XMelinda was my secret swapper and this is what she sent me:

Everything was so perfect for me.  The scarf had very neat glass beads on the edges, the CD was great, the embroidery will be turned into a hanging and put next to my other NBC hanging Crystal made for me and the jewelry was just my style, thanks again Melinda!

IQ Jones sent me the most wonderful package.  Inside was a beautiful knitted green scarf...It is absolutely fabulous.  I've been getting compliments from everyone since I got it Saturday.
Also, included are Christmas stockings for my hubbie, cat, and I (all with our names embroidered!!), a furry cat toy that my cat hasn't stopped playing with, a map of Italy (yay....I hope to use it for real, someday!!), and a cute snowflake ornament.  Thank-you so much for everything!!  I love it all!!!!

Feel free to post pics, Kate, otherwise, when I get my digi cam for Christmas, I'll post pics.

I completely forgot to take pictures Sad I did, however, seriously consider changing my name & keeping at least one stocking... The scarf was a big hit while it was being knitted-- SO SOFT!!! I'm glad you are happy Cheesy

Yes, thank-you Alleycat & Kendaljay for the postcard, that was so sweet of you guys.

Also, IQ, I was in Michaels today and practically had to beat off a couple of women with knitting needles to get away from my scarf.  There's nothing like having complete strangers come up to you and fondle an article of clothing!! Wink

THANK YOU TONI!!!!  Kiss Grin

Hey, are those the lovely/creepy flowers from the embroidery craftalong un-swap??  That would be pretty funny, since my project for that craftalong was also for this swap  Cheesy

Okay, now, I really hate to post without pictures, but my husband left the camera over at the new house that we're still not moved into yet, and now we have a big ice storm so I don't know when I'll get over there to get it.  I will post pics eventually, but I don't want to not post about the awesome package I got yesterday from kendaljay.

I will admit I got kind of excited when I saw the return address said Irving, TX.  Oh boy, I know who this is from! thought I  Grin  And I have to say that pretty much everything in the box is something that I've been thinking "gee, I wish I had that, I should get around to making it someday..."

There is a lovely green-patterned polarfleece throw blanket -- the kind that is doubled up and tied at the edges.  I am always cold, and I keep stealing the polarfleece throw from my mom's house, and then she says, "have you seen my blanket" and I think "drat!" and have to take it back.  I love how this one is double-layered, it's SO SOFT.

Also, a polarfleece scarf which I thought was dark charcoal grey but which looks more like dark grey-blue when I got outside.  I put it on this morning to attempt to go to work, but my car is iced over and I can't get any of the doors open!  It's got little embroidery at the end in one of my all-time favorite color combinations, teal and lime green, so pretty on the dark color of the fleece.  Oh, and I have lime-green gloves, which I haven't been wearing because they didn't go with anything!

There is a cute tin that is spherical and looks like a Christmas ornament (pink, ooh la la!) and inside... Barbie shoe earrings, awesome!  TWO pairs of guitar-pick earrings, which if I remember correctly I shamelessly hint-hinted about in my questionnaire, one is hot pink (YEAH!) with I just noticed little turtles on them (I love turtles) and the other is more dangly and transparent yellow -- so cool!  And more earrings, made of *washers*, like from the hardware store.

Also inside are many magnets made of different interesting buttons!  Now, just the other day, I was sorting through some old magazines, and I started to tear out a page where they'd made magnets out of buttons, thinking it was a cute idea, and then I thought, "Oh, I'll never get around to making that"  Wink

Everything is fabulous -- thank you SO much, and I will post pics later when I can.

Melinda

Yeah, that's exactly what it is.  Roll Eyes   I was running short of time and figured I could meet two obligations at once this way.

I took some pics of the finished projects before I sent them to dixie_terror, and I'll ask her if I can post them later if she doesn't have pics to post.

That's excellent, I love those flowers!  (and I don't think they're creepy, I think they're kinda "gypsy"!)

So, I made it to work today after pouring warm water on my car doors (yeesh) and I have found another use for my lovely scarf from kendaljay -- I forgot my sweater at home and I'm wearing short sleeves, so I'm wearing the scarf like a wrap/stole.  I fastened it in the front with a binder clip  Cheesy

Also, I took out my throw blanket again, and it's not green at all, but gorgeous shades of turquoisey-aqua.  Y'ever see those TV commercials where they say "it's not your..." and they're trying to tell you the lighting in your house is just bad?  Yeah, it's like that...  And I would SO rather be at home snuggled in my cozy blanket on this cold ice-storm day than here at work!

Here's what 706Designs sent me.

There are handmade soaps, a beaded paintbrush, a mini scrapbook, earrings and magnets made of holiday erasers, and the world's most amazing bracelet.  I've worn the bracelet every day since it arrived!  Here's a closeup of the bracelet:

There were also some chocolate-covered espresso beans, but those disappeared before I could take the picture.

Thank you so much!

Melinda

The base is made by weaving seed beads together using the square stitch technique....after I make the base, I embellish it like crazy.  I have several bracelets like this on display/for sale at the gallery my work is at.  The bracelets are so much fun to make!!!

Wow, my hat's off to you!  I think that is beyond my beading skills...I don't know how to do any of those needle and thread techniques...maybe I'll learn someday...

Melinda-  The needle and thread techniques are a lot easier than they look!  I urge you to give it a shot.  If you can knit, I'm sure you can learn how to do this (she says, as she naws on her fingernails, getting ready to knit for the first time in the craftalong).

Heres a pic of the fab scarf IQ sent me.

I'll take pics of my stockings later, as they are still hanging up (sadly, my cat already took down my Christmas tree on Christmas day)

Finally remembered to actually POST picture-- for some reason, my computer completely refuses to post on its own...
Here's a picture of the Pink Poodle Apron, Red & White Swirl fleece blanket (opposite side is white fleece), & the cushy cream fleece scarf with blue embroidery:

I took this before Christmas, which is good because my cousin Matt made off with the scarf-- he's a lot faster than I am Undecided He's bringing it to Italy with him. Big month for my stuff, my camera is in NYC, my scarf is going to Italy & London...
Thank you AlleyCat.RM!!!
ps, how did you make the scarf so plush? I'm hoping to make one for myself;)

Ooh, that green scarf is LURVELY!!

I think alleycat.rm and kendaljay must have sat down one night and had a blanket-tying session, since that peppermint-looking blanket is just like the turquoisey one kendaljay sent me!  You'd think they were sisters or something  Wink  Oh, and I so enjoyed being toasty warm under my soft blanket last night while I vegged on the couch...

Since I'm STILL in the process of moving, I don't even know where our camera is [Oh, and when I asked hubby "where's the camera" he said, "You mean *my* camera?"  Sheesh!  Men!] but I'm going to at least try and lay the jewelry and magnets on the scanner at work tomorrow.  I feel bad when someone puts effort into making me such totally cool stuff and then I don't show it off for them.  Oh, the Barbie shoe earrings were all the rage with my co-workers yesterday  Grin

okay........i'm finally posting!!  yep xmelinda, your blankie is the same. we did do them seperately though, i had a terrible time seeing as i'm left-handed and my scissors were dull and i was really slow....anyway enough pouting Cry  on to pressies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

let me set the scene for you first:  it's christmas eve, i'm hanging out at my mom's apartment.  my dad calls me and says i got a package just delivered!  of course i say"bring it! bring it!" Grin  so he does, and it is hugemongous!  i'm getting all excited again just thinking about it! Cheesy  so i start to open it and let me tell you.......it was incredible.  can i be totally honest here?  of course i can, this is the super swappers!  okay here goes:
I
LOVED
IT!

this was such an amazing and well-thought out gifty, seriously it was probably the best packie i've gotten in a swap!  now i know you all are dying to know who had me.......nah i wont tell you!  just kidding.  Wink  BkRenning4 aka Kristine sent my awesome package.  there were 10 (please tell me that's right, i cant remember) gifts total, and she took my answers to the questions and based each gifty on that.  now let me see if i can remember them all (not in any order):

*first was a very cool set of christmas cd's in a leopard case, which i loved!  it's so funny, cause i was thinking about buying the brian setzer cd like two weeks before.
*then i got two fleecey boa scarves, one cheetah (?) print and one leopard. so soft, i love that kind!

*then some cute dish towels

*and this cutey patootie snowman ivy bowl w/ a kitchy glittery blue collar Cheesy

*and this great ornament......did you seriously make that yourself? i am in awe  Shocked

*and two bracelets made of pink and blue "natural type" stones, they feel so good against my wrist! nice and cold and heavy. yeah i'm a freak

*several different pairs of earrings, but these were my favorites (and the others are at my moms still) Tongue

*then this incredible, truly incredible last gift: a scrapbook started JUST for me about Greece (because i said i always wanted to go there)  oh i loved this so so sooooooo much, you have no idea!  and these pics aren't that great, but you can see some of bkrenning's handywork.

and then, as if that weren't enough, she sent my sis alleycat something too!  let me tell you she was excited about that!  Cheesy  she made her a hanging mobile out of invisible wire and lots of georgemous sparkly shiny beeds......it'll go perfect in our craft room when we move.

okay i really hope i didn't forget anything (i'm sure i did though) but i'll post back later if i remember.  i just wanted to show off this super super super swapper gift from the most amazing swapper ever, bkrenning!  seriousley, thank you so much kristine!  Kiss
