Hi All,

These are fabulous!  Instead of vinyl, would it be possible to laminate the pics?

ananda, I was thinking... perhaps your your sewing machine needle is a 'thick' one?? Like a denim one? I think it will help to use a really thin needle. Also, if your stitches are close together you might want to use longer stitches so as not to 'perforate' the paper...? Just my 2 cents.

This project looks like one for me.  Such a good idea for gifts too!
Thanks for explaining how you did it and the photos.

you're welcome - have fun making them!

here's a tip for everybody - i think we talked about this earlier in the thread but it probably bears repeating. DO NOT get these WET!! not even a little bit. the water will soak through the back of the felt and ruin the picture. i learned the hard way when i was washing my hands and forgot to take mine off - ugh!!

Where can I buy snaps?  And how exactly do I put them on a cuff?

you can get snaps at the fabric store, craft store, variety store, harware store.... there's lots of different kinds too - silver, brass, pearl, colored.  fabric and craft stores usually have the best selection. you put them on with a little setter tool made just for snaps, or you can use a grommet setter. the first time you buy them make sure you get the package that has the tool in it. after that you can just buy refill packs. it's a 3 part operation. one part of the snap has little prongs that you put thru your fabric, then you place a flat disc part over that and bang it in place with the setter and a hammer. then you put the other piece on the other end of your bracelet (it has prongs too) and bang it in place. it sounds confusing, but the tool comes with instructions that are really quite simple to follow. the hard part is getting it lined up perfectly before you "set". sometimes you'll mess up a couple before you get one perfect, but you'll get better with practice.

good luck!
