lol, I thought I was so weird, a 23 year old wanting a dress a 12?13? year old was wearing in a movie. Now I don't feel so bad! I went directly to Joann's after to check through their patterns but I didn't see anything close enough. This might have to be a self made pattern. And yeah, her hair is super cool! I wish my hair was long enough to braid!

She is 13 until the 9th or 10th book and the movie only covers the first three books so Violet is 13, I have no idea how old the actress is though.

Ok, here are the best pics I could find of Violet's costume. Not too many of Sunny's cape that I could find. Now, someone who is awesome and wonderful needs to figure out how we can put this together!! The front is very easy to find pictures of, but not of the bottom or whole thing. None from the back so that will have to be fudged.


*edited* I want to add after seeing the movie a second time, the back also laces up. It seems like a corset attached to a somewhat asymmetrical skirt and puffy sleeves with fishnet.

I saw it yesterday and also drooled over the set design and costumes.  I so want Sunny's cloak for my 4 year old.  Did anyone find a good picture of sunny's cloak?

I haven't even seen the movie yet, but I love her costume. Case in point: I saw the very first commercial and said, "OH MY GOD, I love that girls clothes..."

I'm 30 and just saw the movie today and was IN LOVE with the costuming!!! I adore her dress! And loved Sunny's clothes as well. I am really going to be trying to recreate some of those pieces!!

I LOVED the costumes/set and everything about the Lemony Snicket...Series of Unfortunate Events movie.  Can't wait to see all the  marketing goods.  Wonder if we'll see some influence from the movie in the apparell market?  Goth goes pop?

What I really want is one of those "Happy LIttle Elves"  bobble heads for the car!    Has anyone seen one?

Jim Carey's suit reminded me of Jack, the Pumpkin King from the "Nightmare Before Christmas", another costume I'd like to find a pattern to create.
