I have made some ribbon blankies like you see in some stores for $25.00 and up. I made it out of an old receiving blanket that I had lying around the house. We have so many that I didn't want to waste it. I am planning on making another one for her but i will give it to her for christmas.

That's totally nice and cute. I haven't seen them in stores before, so I don't know what to base it on, but it's a cool idea. I like the colours of the ribbons.

I know that the original people that make this types of blankets are located at www.taggies.com. Its really crazy to pay that much but I sure wouldn't. I made my daughter another one last night to give to her for christmas. She loves the first one that I made her yesterday.   Smiley

those are awesome, but i do agree that $19 + is way too much for a little blankie

I read another MB that said she was really picky about the copyright to the name brand version. I dunno. I always thought it didn't matter if it was for personal use. It was on some kinda down home country themed site. I don't remember the name.  Huh

The ones I've seen were small. Maybe dinner napkin size? They're more developmental toys than blankies.  They're really popular right now.

Great job OP!  Is one of your ribbons sports themed? It'd be cute to make diff ones with diff colors/ themes.

i made one for my little girl for christmas too! i was a little worried about the copyright stuff but i figured if i wasnt selling them it would/should be ok, right?

its not a great pic of the blanket but thats her on christmas snuggle up napping with it. i made her a big one and then a smaller napkin sized one with the same kind of fabric but doggies instead. i love them Smiley
