I found one of these on a web site that I thought was cute (not taggies)
and the lady said she no longer sold them, I emailed her and asked her why?
and she said that the people at Taggies wrote her and said she was infringing on their copyright and they would come after her if she continued to make and sell them.
I guess they even reward people for giving them leads on copyright infringer's! It says so on their site.
Some people are just plain greedy!
I made one for my son with flannel on one side and an adorable froggie print on the other. He loves it! Smiley

I feel sorry for people who don't craft!  Wink  What do they do with their time???

i used two pieces of flannel. i cut them to the same size then i put one square, right side up and attached the ribbons with little pins. then after i had pins all the way around i put the other piece of flannel on top of the first. right sides together. i sewed around the edge and left an opening to flip. flipped it and then sewed all the way around the edge. does that make sense??

These are so cool! I've made one for one of my girlfriends and now people are asking me if I'll be selling them.

I was wondering about their patent on these blankets. Would a blanket made with batting between it still fall into their patent? Here is their patent listing

 http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL&p=1&u=/netahtml/srchnum.htm&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=6,427,265.WKU.&OS=PN/6,427,265&RS=PN/6,427,265

Its just a thought.

Thanks,
Jennie

Hi.....I'm a brand new newbie, so pardon me if I'm asking dumb questions. Wink
How much yardage of the ribbons is needed to make one of these?  Is there any type of ribbon which works better (or type to avoid?)
So, two types of fleece, right?  But no batting?  Sounds easy enough.  Anything else I should know?  Thanks for any help!

Wow, every other word on that site is patented and/or copyrighted.  They need to come up with a better descriptive word for thier blankets.

You know what's funny about the Taggies blankets?  My boyfriend's mother can remember recieving and making these for him and his cousins.  He's the youngest....at age 23.  Taggies only got their patent in 1999--way to monopolize on something that already existed.

Did anyone ever find out about that patent? I have made a few and I would love to be able to sell them at a craft fair.

How would you find out if there is a way around a patent?

Please let me know if anyone had any info on this. Thanks.
