I may be ready to post mine a little later. It's so fun to have a gallery to see what people do for themselves as opposed to a swap partner.

I want everyone to get their books faster so we can get this show on the road.

The background paper is a green mulberry that my husband used to wrap a present to me in,so now I will think of him everytime I look at the book.  Then I applied vintage sheet music. The birds are a wet gel transfer of mourning doves by John Audubon.  then there are dried flowers,rubber stamping and the quotes

The words on the front cover say "His eye is on the sparrow" the inside front cover is the refrain from the song  "I sing because I am happy, I sing because I am free. His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me."  The back cover is Matt 10:27 " Fear ye not, therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows."

I really like the vertical orientation, especially with the page format we are using.  I can display the book open, like an easel, with a different artist's work showing on the front and the back.  If you still want to do horizontal pages that will be of course be fine with me

OK, I'm about done with mine. Once I put the book back together, I'll probably need to add some fibers to the coils of the binding, but I'm going to have to wait on that.

And the insides, where I'll put everyone's name in order on the card and then stamp the date with my handy-dandy library stamp that I love so much:


You probably can't really see that stamp on the right side page, but it's so fun: it says "MINE MINE MINE" in a circle all around the edge, and inside the circle it says "This belongs to ________ so give it back!" I love putting these on my journals. If anyone would like me to stamp you one and send it with my page when we're partners, just let me know.

wow, lovely covers you two!!!   Katxena has mailed my book so I have a few days to brainstorm something for my covers.  Like your library card sign-in racky    Where do you get your nifty stamps?

Stunning as always Ms. Racky!! I think I have some of that same striped paper, too.

I love the "mine mine mine" thing reminds me of the seagulls in "Finding Nemo"

I just remembered I have some awesome paper that might be perfect for this...not necessarily the direction I thought I was going to go, but who cares!

The "mine" stamp is from 7Gypsies. I got it and the swirly stamps online. The little lowercase letters are from Michaels, and the clown on the card (he's hard to see) came from an independent stamp store near me. I never used to care much for stamps, but I find now that I really love them.

I find I always buy stamps and never use them, so I stay away from them now. But I really like the swirly one of yours, it can be used in so many different ways.

Those swirls are the best. I had to look really hard for them. They are always sold out everywhere!

I have a bunch of swirly stamps. I'm totally addicted to them and my huge harlequin diamond stamp.

lisateacher, i love that you used paper with such meaning, that's so sweet.

racky, the colours are so gorgeous, and i'm super duper jealous of your library envelope and your "mine" stamp!

i managed to find the paper i wanted for my cover - it's the same paper i used to make the book that holds photos of all the atcs i've made and sent away, so they'll match!

of course, i totally got suckered in by all the fabulous halloween paper they had as well - a newsprint design with black FLOCKED spiderwebs!!! ohmygod! (i am SUCH a sucker for anything flocked!).

but i got out without adding tooooo much to my visa.

now i just have to wait for my book to arrive!
