Hi all!  Hope someone can help me, I think my question is fairly simple but I am gauge-and-math challenged so I'm copping out and asking you guys! :-)

I've decided to make up a VERY BASIC tank design, using Caron Simply Soft and size 7 circs.  Here is "my idea" (in quotes b/c it's so NOT a new pattern I'm making up):

- 2x2 rib at the bottom
- stockinette until the boobs, switch to seed stitch, add straps.

So yeah, BASIC BASIC BASIC.  Basically, I want to do something like this: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=59314.0

And now here is my question:

I am a size small, and a 34B bra size (which I'll be wearing with this). I just knit the Razor Cami in LB BabySoft yarn (which is obv much thinner than Caron SS) and size 5 circs. I did a 156 cast on sts for that with the same 2x2 rib at the bottom...and it fits me PERFECTLY!  Now, I know that is a lace pattern and therefore has a lot more give than stockinette, but I did some half-assed mathematical (read: wrong) thinking and thought a 144 cast on for this one I want to make now would be right.  Clearly, I should not 'wing it' so...PLEASE HELP!

THANKS in advance!

Lay out the Razor cami flat, but not stretched and measure it in strategic places - hem, bust. Then figure out your sts per inch in stockinette and match the measurements. You may want to do the ribbing in a size smaller needle, though 7s are pretty small for SS.
